Adamantine
- Not to be confused with Adamantite.
Adamantine (or adamantium)[1] is a type of metal.
History
During the War of the Ancients, several adamantine mines could actually be found around Neltharion's Lair, and goblins mined it for their master Deathwing.[2] They then forged the adamantine into steel plates[3][4] that drogbar slaves adhered to Deathwing's body to hold it together.[5][6] The plates were magically imbued to feel as light as feathers.[7]
Adamantine steel chains were later used in Grim Batol to hold the Dragon Queen Alexstrasza chained.[8]
In the RPG
It is an ultra-hard metal that adds to the quality of a weapon or suit of armor. Weapons fashioned from adamantine have a natural ability to bypass hardness when sundering weapons or attacking objects. Only weapons, armor, and shields normally made of metal can be fashioned from adamantine; an arrow (the arrowhead) can be made of adamantine, but a quarterstaff cannot.[9]
