“Drop these eggs anywhere on the battlefield to surprise Melee enemies with many fiery Flying whelps!”
Whelp Eggs are a unit of the Blackrock family in Warcraft Rumble. As eggs, they are a non-attacking ground unit; upon hatching into whelps, they become flying units. They can be set in front of traveling melee enemies to deal damage, or they can be placed near a point of interest ahead of time to "guard" it.
A squad of whelp eggs is made up of three members.
Traits
Elemental: Deals elemental damage. Strong vs Armored.
Unbound: Can be played anywhere on the map.
Hatching: Unit hatches into final form when attacked.
Flying: Strong vs Melee units.
Squad: Strong vs One-target units.
Talents
Rookery
Flame Burst
Chromatic Plating
Details
- Flame Burst deals 110 damage (per egg). It does not hit flying units.
- Kobolds will not attack whelp eggs.
- Unhatched whelp eggs can capture Meeting Stones.
Notes
- They represent black dragon whelps. Specifically, they're based on the hatching whelp eggs found in certain World of Warcraft locations such as Onyxia's Lair.
- The Rookery talent may be named after the Rookery in Upper Blackrock Spire. The Chromatic Plating talent may be named after the chromatic dragonflight.
