Thanks for the User Page revert!

I always notice when someone changes my page, and I wanted to thank you for changing back Acharai's changes to it today. However, in defense of Acharai, if you compare his version to mine, he actually removed several somewhat derogatory remarks regarding me being a "glorified forum troll." Since I'm the one who used that phrase in the first place, I didn't mind it being there, but his edit to my user page was more complimentary than vandalism. I don't want Acharai to get unfairly labeled. Palehoof 21:41, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

I may have misread the difference. I will remove Acharai from the list of violations if you are fine with the contribution. I just saw things removed, I put them back, now it is removed again by me.--SWM2448 21:46, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Ogri'la ogres

I'd suggest making a specific article for them, or adding more to the ogri'la page about how they differ from standard ogres and ogre mages. The lore discussiong the fact they are different. It just confuses things to have info specific to them listed under stanard ogre or ogre mage articles.Baggins 00:41, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

If this is about going against the consensus, I am sorry, but I found the source of my comment. He says something like that.--SWM2448 01:17, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
I meant that Kronk isn't a ogre mage, he's something different, he's something more than an ogre mage, all ogri'la ogres are more than regular ogres. Something about the crystals according to the game quests and lore.Baggins 01:28, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

New ideas page cleanup

If you have the time, I could use some help cleaning up class ideas, please. Basically it should be rearranged into several sections, I.E, class ideas based on official material (warcraft rpg, books, manuals, etc), a section devoted to class ideas from D&D roleplaying in general, non official classes but popular in general fantasy (as for formatting these should require a small paragraph from a related D&D sourcebook), and last a section devoted to fan made class ideas (note these should probably just be links to player pages, much like we did for expansion ideas).

Thanks for your help in advance, if you feel you can get around to it.Baggins 19:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Sure! I can try, but I do not own the D&D books.--SWM2448 21:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Besides the Warcraft RPG, and a few star wars rpg books, neither do I. If it helps check out the denied class section at the end of the article that I added last night. Also to research some of the class names you might need to google them :p...Baggins 21:31, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
What do I do with Possible future hero classes? Seems repeat-ish...--SWM2448 17:37, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
I started that long long time ago. Would probably suggest a short blurb in the section, move the content to class ideas, and then link to "class ideas" using {{seealso}}. --Sky (t | c | w) 05:07, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Little Obnoxious?

"How about a server subpage? We have ways we do things.--SWM2448 00:39, 4 December 2007 (UTC)"

I'm happy for the input, but just because you have "Ways you do things" doesn't neccessarily mean its wrong. I'm obviously ALLOWED to have my character as a subpage of my page. TheAdamant 19:36, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

If I remember correctly you did not want a subpage at all. I moved it, then you moved it back. It was a suggestion. I am sorry if you took it offensively.--SWM2448 19:37, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Eh, that was a mistake. I'd get in trouble if I didn't have it as a subpage, though it escapes me why I can't redirect the article to my subpage. *facedesk* TheAdamant 05:42, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Having difficulty identifying official source material...

As I'm trying to clean up grammar and general legibility of the pages, I'm running into difficulty; I have come to understand the cited sections as being quoted from official sources or publications, but these sections often contain grammar and syntax errors that I can't believe were present in those original sources.

Certainly, I suppose that other users might have corrupted these pieces of information - I don't own most of the pen-and-paper RPG books to revert to original quotes... but it's often hard to distinguish individual contributions from official sources, especially when paragraphs intermix between cited source and personal contribution.

Any suggestions?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Magnutc (talk · contr).

In a perfect world they should not intermix, but if they do, my advice would be to maybe look at the page history or ask Baggins (He puts most of it up in the first place). Also, please sign with ~~~~ so we know who is who.--SWM2448 22:44, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Varedis beta picture

You ask why it is useless in Varedis. First off, there's already a better quality picture of him on the page, which is derived from the English client, rather than the Korean one. Secondly, it fails the guidelines on WW:IMAGE: "NPC portraits should...Be cropped to the NPC's shape".IconSmall BloodElf Male.gifAMBER(RΘCK) 23:56, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

It is a picture of early TBC dev. If pictures of the alpha/beta at the point it was taken are allowed, I feel it should be kept for historical reasons.--SWM2448 23:59, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
There's nothing special about that picture. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Varedis encounter hasn't been changed since the beta. There isn't anything "historic" about this picture.IconSmall BloodElf Male.gifAMBER(RΘCK) 00:13, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Rumored Races

Should I move my original Rumored Races page back into my namespace? That's an article that's mostly fan-fic. --Xmuskrat 23:55, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Your page is now called Future race ideas, and seems to be no longer made up of fan fiction (though the links at the bottom still are mostly). The point that M'uru's spark appears identical to the Ashbringer crystal is not as strong as it could be, as that doodad is recycled in many places throughout the game, such as in Medivh's ritual. I beleive it to be correct, though it's not something the alpha can confirm as it's an unfinished zone and restricted even to testers. They've been sacrificing to their gods all along, that's what trolls do. To state the obvious and say it has driven them mad makes little sense, so it should be that they actually sacrificed their gods rather than to them. You can get away with http://www.wowwiki.com/index.php?title=Grizzly_Hills&diff=1389360&oldid=1387075 because it's still not the correct name, and the new name you've given it is merely a description of what the pic appears to be supported by alpha info of what it's not. ;) The evidence for it being Venture Co. is publically available and in plain sight. -- Zeal (T/C)  02:36, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

The Nuke of Edit Reverts

I've noticed a certain user has been taking over another user's FF while he has been dormant and there's been so much edits it'll take forever to revert it. Yes, I can, but do you really want to???--SWM2448 23:49, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes but maybe you should see my logic in this.

Say you started to go into your (kickassing-ly funny) Cashbringer, but because of problems leave this site for 2 years. Then let's say in the time you were gone, a user makes an account, sees you've been dormant awhile, then takes over your fanfic, turning it into something completely different. Let's say he makes it from a funny article to a serious one that's involoved in his FFs. When you came back much to your chagrin, you see Cashbringer is now the sword used by "Zarg the Conquerer" of User:So-and-so's FF. You wouldn;t lik it. So if User:KKRP comes back to see User:Lazlow 28 has turned his pretty cool stories into something he doesn't like at all.  IconSmall HighElf Male.gif Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 23:56, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm not in the bussiness of FF anymore. I'm just going to fix stuff. Do you always have to be so obnoxious all the time Gourra? That gets really annoying...  IconSmall HighElf Male.gif Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 02:48, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Unit navbox project

Template:Warcraft III units. Yes, no, maybe? Just my 2s of trying to be helpful.--g0urra[T҂C] 22:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

My first thought: Wow. That is a lot better than I (and most other people) could do.--SWM2448 22:40, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Hehe. Well, my first thought was "4 RTS factions? That's a shitload of groups to do" then I thought of this. You might want to check this out too.--g0urra[T҂C] 22:48, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks again.--SWM2448 01:21, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

alpa info

i know that adding alpa info is not allowed (or i know it now...), but there is still big article about DK´s abilities. Kesmana (talk) 09:57, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

"Uldoom"

Don't know if you're using first hand, a summary from one of many websites (which are often misleading in their summaries), or a full transcript for http://www.wowwiki.com/index.php?title=World_of_Warcraft:_Wrath_of_the_Lich_King&curid=117259&diff=1436543&oldid=1436253 but i made notes during the panel and i don't recall Cory saying "old world content". Rob Pardo was the one who later added to the answer and brought up Grim Batol.

The reason I believe they confused things, is because we initially saw Ulduar written as Uldoom in early WotLK info, which was clearly wrong. When answering the question, Cory said "Uldoom", not Uldum. Up until this latest answer, the statement has always been that there are no plans for Uldum and that it is something they would like to do later. This has even been said recently in interviews for WotLK, so a complete flip of that statement now seems strange. -- Zeal (T/C)  08:19, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I was using a cross between WOWinsider's transcript and a video of them talking for that particular edit. Sorry for any mistakes.--SWM2448 16:20, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
No mistakes, and no worries. I could be wrong, was just discussing it with you. :p -- Zeal (T/C)  16:24, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I eagerly await what you plan to do with "Rescheduled for visitation"... --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:54, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

I get the hint. I was really just putting it out there.--SWM2448 21:56, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
ROFL. Really, though, your edit(s) pointed me at other of your comments, that perhaps some of the WotLK content would involve Uldum in some way. Hope that my small addition was of some help to you. Sadly, I have not got even an inkling what I would do for a "rescheduled for visitation" page. A reference on the Titans page to that comment might not go amiss, though. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:05, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
The fate of Uldum is uncertain. The only info I know of for sure is from the Stone Watcher of Norgannon (your work). There is a fan fiction about it, but that should not be linked from any factual page.--SWM2448 22:34, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Battlegrounds

Thanks for adding Gurubashi Catacombs to the Battlegrounds page for me. I made the page and added it to the template. I'm very interested in canceled material, and I plan on digging around for more info. It's just a plus that it was the driving force leading to the implementation of Arenas.

Thanks again! Omniferous (talk) 00:38, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Well thank you. I do what I can.--SWM2448 21:39, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Bookkeepers

After a lengthy absence, the WoWWiki:Bookkeepers are returning. Our goals will be the same as the previous group, maintaining and improving the lore pages, et cetera. This is a formal invitation for you to join out the group. You'd be doing much the same as you've been doing, but you would also be involved in Bookkeeper projects and initiatives. You've been quite the lore activist for some time, and I'm pretty sure we owe you one, so consider this acceptance of your long-ago application, if you want it.--Ragestorm (talk · contr) 16:46, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Apothecary Society info

Not "not valid", its just past tense history, as in 1-2 years before the original World of Warcraft, 3-4 years or so before Wrath. It just meeds to be paraphrased into past tense, and additional events added to it. It could use the updates from Horde Player's Guide time period (just before TBC), and wrath of the lich king info.Baggins (talk) 03:44, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

I know that. Semantics. I was both stating why his edits were an honest mistake, and over generalizing. Thanks anyway.--SWM2448 01:21, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Wailing Caverns right eye socket cave - Accuracy

Was there something in particular that needs citation? Madkaugh (talk) 17:06, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

I felt the name could be better, as it is very conjectural and a description in itself. I did not have a suggestion for a better name, so I could not use {{move}}, as that requires an alternative name. I can see how my edit made little sense.--SWM2448 21:04, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
My original goal in naming it was to clearly distinguish what location the article was about. The name is cumbersome; it is a description, which may be inappropriate. It is not conjectural at all. It states what the cave is. As far as I know, the cave does not have a published official name, if it did, that would be the one to use. Calling it "Eye socket cave" might work better (until another eye socket cave gets put into the game). "Wailing Caverns quest cave" is ambiguous, sounds like the main caverns. "Wailing caverns quest giver's cave"? Still too long. "Deviate recipes cave"? That will probably remain unique and apropos, doesn't address the landscape, but does address one reason the cave is important.
The reference to Wailing Caverns in the title is useful, but could be dropped - linking and text in the article ties the article to the Wailing Caverns.
The word "right" could be dropped from the title with little ambiguity. When I originally edited the article, I was cleaning up references to "left eye socket", which is incorrect and misleading - somewhat irritating to jump down into the wrong eye socket and have to start over. I suppose I fixated on that feature. That level of detail really belongs in the article, not the title.
"eye socket" - it's kind of the distinguishing feature, why this location stands out feature-wise, how to visually find it.
"cave" - either "Wailing Caverns eye socket" or "Eye socket cave", but not just "Eye socket", that's just too ambiguous.
Looking these over, the name seems to need either "Wailing Caverns" or "cave" or both, and some distinguishing trait. I'm leaning toward "Eye socket cave", the hazard of a future ambiguity not withstanding. Thoughts?Madkaugh (talk) 03:13, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Dalaran split

And your reason for splitting Dalaran is...what? There is no other city split like that and there was no reason after the split template was put in on the talk page. g0urra[T҂C] 22:17, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

There was a reason. Take it how you will to. I will not twist Ragestorm's comments into justification for my actions, but he did comment.--SWM2448 22:25, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Bah, missed that one. It looks fine, but perhaps add some infoboxes. And categories. Shiny. g0urra[T҂C] 22:30, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
