I do agree, you shouldn't have had to create User_BearGeneric in the first place... taming a bear is not an accomplishment. Now I'm not going to tell you that you can't make templates that involve taming pets, but since {{User Bear}} is an accomplishment it will stay where it is. Also since nothing links to User_BearAmaniWar, then yes its fine to delete it. I'm losing your sense. You state "Shouldn't be templates for tamed pets" then cite actual practice also as a counter-argument.

I'm sorry these over-specified cases weren't corrected. Those who use general templates to show their specific ?what? breeds hijacked the whole species. It wasn't right. That it's now more difficult to correct doesn't mean it was right. I created 2 templates, and was going to contact the 9 users who linked through to the "over-specified" one. Where I'm in error there is not at all clear to me. --Mangalam (talk) p.s. Copying to your page is a pain I don't need. Splitting the exchange adds nothing ... except entropy. IMNSHO, of course.

All of those templates are for special or unqiue mounts for accomplishments. Only one Tiger mount in existence, so it didn't need to be specific. None of these templates refer to the species, nor do they need to. Let me repeat that... NONE of those templates are for tamed pets. You haven't lost me, its you who seems to be lost. What's Amani War Bear if not tamed? A pet? If I'm wrong about that then great, set me straight. But we've been around this 4 or 5 times now and you haven't made things clear.

There's a template called "Bear" that is actually about one specific bear. I wanted to change that, by making "Bear" generic and "Amani War Bear" for those users who were already using that specific. If I'm wrong, please do point that out. That's what I asked. But you started out by deleting the specific, then saying there should be none at all. (As well as commanding me not to use p.s.)
