Hi, welcome to WoWWiki! Thanks for your edit to the N [57] Uncovering Past Secrets page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- Fandyllic (talk) 23:48, 16 March 2009

I am working on rep in various areas and wowwiki is a great tool but since I have noticed some errors I will try to update as I go. - David

Your Pictures

On behalf of all WoWWikians, I would like to Thank you for uploading photos where you see fit! Thats awesome! However, just two things I want to point out to you.

  1. Remember to always Crop your images as best you can, that in turns enlarges them so we can see the person better and less background.
  2. They aren't your pictures, put the proper licence on a photo when uploading. For further information I would like to direct your attention to this page WoWWiki:Images policy/Licensing

I'm fixing the pictures you already posted but I just wanted to let you know for future reference. Keep up the Good Work -- TeeSon5 (talk) 12:11, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

Is this a pre-generated message? As far as I can tell, I do include licensing and crop my pictures. Unless there is a very specific size the pictures need to be.DLanyon (talk) 12:31, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
No I wrote this -- You put {{user-ss}} in your photos. I'm not saying you didn't add a license, just accidentally added the wrong one. Your pictures were also cropped but not to the fullest extent. Granted, this is only for two pictures so its absolutely no big deal at all. However, I wanted to bring it to your attention now while it's still a minor meaningless detail, instead of later after you've posted billions of images ;-D ... anyways, just keep up the good work and have fun! --TeeSon5 (talk) 12:46, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. As for the license, I selected the option for "This is a personal screenshot taken in one of Blizzards games" when I uploaded the file (which I read as "this is a screenshot 'I' took"). I see now that there are other options further down, such as "this is a screenshot of a NPC". Thanks for the heads up. Also, in the future, if you will contact me if you see something that needs to be corrected (or can be done better/ or clarified), I will happily make the correction, so I will know in the future not to make the same mistake. As for the cropping I will crop tighter if that is wowwiki standards. Thanks,DLanyon (talk) 13:01, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
There is no such policy in place that demands screenshots cropped from head to toe, a little background is often nice to have... just not too much. DLanyon's images were fine. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 04:30, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
I agree that sometimes context (background) is useful. Part of why WoW Model Viewer images are less desirable. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:53, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
