The Valley of the Titans is a dungeon in the Forevergreen. Formed by Keeper Freya in tribute to the Titan Pantheon, the valley has been claimed in recent times by the forces of Hakkar, and now the darkness of the Nightmare threatens to take root there.
Background
The genesis of the Forevergreen began with the Valley of the Titans, a lush jungle realm created by Freya in homage to the Pantheon. The valley was shaped first, and the rest of the Forevergreen grew around it. The servants of Hakkar have claimed the valley as their home, making their temples and sacrificial altars there. The darkness of the Nightmare threatens to take hold, siphoning off the energy of the many blood sacrifices that Hakkar's spawn make to their bloodthirsty god.
Storyline and Encounters
Agents of the Dreamsingers led by Prime Ritualist Vathanc have traveled to the Valley in an effort to preserve it from the Nightmare's influence, but the inhabitants of the Valley who serve Hakkar may not be welcoming even of those who have only their best interests in mind.
Dreamsinger Su'Jan
- Dreamsinger Su'Jan yells: My vision is clouded, but I see your deaths clearly!
A troll druid who entered the Dream long ago to watch over the Valley of the Titans. All throughout the rise of Hakkar to the advent of the Nightmare, Su'Jan fought for the stability of nature, weathering every challenge. At last, with the full power of the Nightmare engulfing the Dream, Su'Jan has succumbed to corruption, convinced she battles threats to the Dream while the Nightmare uses her as a tool against its enemies.
Mondu, Keeper of Life
- Mondu, Keeper of Life yells: How can you hope to save the Dream, when you cannot even save yourselves?
Once a dream giant devoted to the protection of the Forevergreen, the murderous bloodlust of Hakkar has polluted the heart of this once gentle being, causing him to degenerate into a beast of corruption, spreading the blight of the Nightmare throughout the valley.
Primalist Ra'Go
- Primalist Ra'Go yells: Through flame will the Dream be purified! Be consumed by the fires of Hakkar's wrath!
The reptizar primalist Ra'Go has harnessed the power of elemental flame, causing an eruption in the eastern region of the valley. The primal fury of fire is at the disposal of the maddened servant of Hakkar.
Mol'Durm, Overlord of Decay
- Mol'Durm, Overlord of Decay yells: The Nightmare will scourge the world of the sickness of sanity.
A manifestation of the Nightmare, this n'raqi is born from the twisted dreams of the Unwaking. Mol'Durm has spread his pollution through the valley in the form of a plague of rot and decay that threatens to destroy the entire forest.
Vathanc the Unwaking
- Vathanc the Unwaking yells: I serve another master now. Suffer the pain of dark dreams.
As the ritualists of the Dreamsingers prepare to enter the valley's sacred sanctuary to purge the source of the Nightmare corruption, they must be protected from the Nightmare's servants. Even as the hordes of the Nightmare fall, the Nightmare itself reaches out and engulfs the ritualists, resulting in Prime Ritualist Vathanc becoming one of the Unwaking, a servant of the Nightmare. Slave to N'Zoth, Vathanc unleashes all of his corrupted power against the Old God's enemies.
Aftermath
With the destruction of the infestation at the heart of the Valley, the region is cleansed of the Nightmare's corruption. The purge energies of the Valley, unleashed by the Nightmare's destruction, are able to drive back the corruption to the edge of Hakkar's realm. The Altar of Blood remains utterly polluted, but the rest of the Forevergreen is safe for now.
