Kadan Droor, the Nightmare That Walks. A magician born with a talent for mental magic, Kadan became a skilled psionicist, using his gifts to project his mind into different layers of reality. He even discovered a way to send his mind and soul to walk the fabled Emerald Dream, an honor usually reserved for devoted druids. Sadly, Kadan's lack of training in the ways of the Dream led to him stumbling across a region corrupted by the Nightmare, and he fell under the sway of its dark master, N'Zoth. When his mind returned to his body, all that was good in him had been stripped away, replaced with the corruption of the Old Gods. Kadan's dream now is to increase the power of his chosen patron, so that he may one day walk the twisted, non-euclidean halls of Ny'alotha.
Abilities
Nightmare Bolt — Deals a blast of shadowblight damage to a random target.
Nightmare Volley — Deals shadowblight damage to all targets. Used if no targets are in melee range of Kadan.
Nightmare Fog — Kadan summons the Nightmare to touch the nearby area, creating a patch of deadly nightmare fog. Anyone standing inside the fog takes nature damage over time. After the fog clears, a cluster of Nightmare Tendrils spawns.
Nightmare Tendrils — Every Nightmare Tendril will deal periodic nature damage to all targets present.
Curse of N'Zoth — Transforms every player into a Shapeless One and banishes them to the Nightmare. Collect Seeds of Eonar to return to normal. If players do not escape quickly enough, they will become mind-controlled as Shapeless Ones by Kadan for a short period of time.
Blessing of N'Zoth — Kadan becomes a gigantic Shapeless One. His body continuously sprouts Nightmare Tendrils that can be targeted and destroyed separately from himself.
Aura of the Broken Form — Stacking debuff that increases nature damage taken. Stacks to 99.
Strategy
Heroic Mode Changes
- Kadan Droor gains the Blessing of N'Zoth at 40% health instead of at 20% health.
- Mind control is permanent.
- Nightmare Tendrils will spawn while players are afflicted with the Curse of N'Zoth and banished into the Nightmare. They will produce Seeds of Eonar when slain. Players must destroy Nightmare Tendrils in order to acquire enough Seeds of Eonar to cure everyone.
Achievement
- Awaken from the Nightmare - Escape from the Nightmare in under 15 seconds every time you are banished there, then defeat Kadan Droor.
