Focus
I found that several pages along the lines of 
[Blood Garnet] had both this template and {{gems}} on them, and that more recent pages did not.
I offer that including varieties of 'stone' that do not actually exist (eg Fire Opal) was in error, in that such pages only have relevance in terms of socketable gems. They are thus at odds with the non-socketable gems (eg 
[Jade]).
In viewing the name 'Minerals', I have chosen to interpret that to mean "mining crafted gem items". Please feel free to describe your own interpretations. I am reluctant to add this template to more pages without some consensus as to what its focus is, but am happy to bow to that consensus. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:27, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
New version
Please see {{Gems/dev}}. Edit as you see fit. This proposal is to replace both the current {{gems}} as well as {{minerals}}. The ideas is based off of {{mountfooter}}.
