Usage

Generally, only the first argument, spec is required - however, if multiple classes share a spec name, the second argument (class name) is used to determine which icon is returned.

The full spec name can always be used for the spec parameter; alternatively, shorter aliases are also accepted:

Resto (Druid) wrong image

Using {{SpecIcon|<Restoration>|<Druid>}} yields the image for {{SpecIcon|<Restoration>|<Shaman>}} -- wingsofscion 01:29, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Frost (Death Knight), unable to get working correctly

In my attempts to add the Death Knight spec icons, I seem to have gotten Unholy and Blood working correctly, however, I seem to be having a problem getting the correct icon to display for DK Frost (it will display Mage Frost icon instead). I'm not sure what I did wrong there. — wingsofscion 10:43, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Cataclysm icons

Some of the spec icons have changed in Cataclysm. For example, Protection Paladins went from looking like Spell holy devotionaura.png to Ability paladin shieldofthetemplar.png. Are there any plans to update these? JordanTH (talk) 10:20, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Hero talents

Given that Hero Talents have their own icons and are essentially 'sub-specs', should we add those to the template too (either that, or make their own template)? SirJorb (talk) 02:54, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
