Talk:Time-Lost Proto-Drake

I camped this mob for four weeks straight, and there was a definite pattern to the way the Time-Lost Proto-Drake related to Vyragosa. Every time Vyragosa spawned without the Time-Lost Proto-Drake popping up, her spawn timer would lengthen. Her first spawn after TLPD was up would be six hours. If TLPD didn't spawn the next time around, Vyragosa wouldn't show up for 10 hours. Then twelve. Then 18 hours. This would continue up to 24 hours, at which point her timer always reset if TLPD didn't show up. I kept an Excel spreadsheet of her spawn times and noticed this pattern across the four weeks that I camped her (and I did, sadly, do it 24/7 at multiple spawn spots). I knew TLPD had spawned when her timer reset to six hours before she hit the 24 hour mark.

The interesting thing is that even though Vyragosa's spawn timer lengthened, TLPD's did not. He could appear at ANY time after Vyragosa was up (but Vyragosa will never spawn less than six hours after TLPD). I learned this the hard way. I had just killed Vyragosa and, thinking I had six hours to waste, I went to Sholazar Basin to camp another rare spawn. Two hours after Vyragosa died, TLPD had spawned right where I had been. I was so disheartened by it, I stopped camping TLPD that night. A few months later, I started camping again and got him within four days. New artwork from Hearthstone

The next Hearthstone expansion (TITANS) recently revealed a new card called Time-Lost Protodrake. When the expansion is released (next 1 August), the artwork could be added to this page. --TheRealFeriand (talk) 17:38, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
