2.0.7 Changes

Removed any mention of being able to solo this quest, including removal of images and movie links - this can no longer be solo'd. Article now reflects this. - User:Kiltek

I expanded it to report how there are only enough keys for the group, and they are deleted upon leaving to prevent others joining and looting. I am unsure if this is a bug or not, but a friend of mine died on Murmur, and couldn't claim his key because the mob died when he was outside the instance and wasn't lootable by him. --Taelus 02:34, 16 February 2007 (EST)

Good work, I forgot about that! It does indeed seem like a bug that you can't loot the key if you die on the encounter. Although the Murmur incident can be avoided by looting the box before engaging Murmur - he won't aggro. Kiltek 05:08, 16 February 2007 (EST)
defeating murmur before looting the box you mean. ?
its not possible to loot a monster if you were not on his aggro list anyway. so anyone outside the instance would be unable to loot it User:CrazyJack/Sig 06:17, 16 February 2007 (EST)
Was under the impression Taelus means his friend had engaged Murmur and died while engaged (as such he should still be on the hate list, even if he died)
Taelus: you realise the key isn't looted from Murmur right? User:Kiltek/Sig 09:23, 16 February 2007 (EST)
Indeed I do realise that. We had a party with a druid healer, CR was down, and someone looted the container thus spawning the mob. The dead person released after the guardian was dead, and their key vanished as they could loot the mob when running back, but no key. --Taelus 13:03, 16 February 2007 (EST)
In that case I'm afraid it's not a bug :( Just someone being very silly/selfish! User:Kiltek/Sig 14:33, 16 February 2007 (EST)
Unsure about third fragment (have not yet tried it), but the second fragment *is* still soloable, I just did it. All you have to do is kill an elite now. It's not that hard. -- Stormblazer 21:37, 17 February 2007
Nonetheless - it's not supposed to be solo'd, and I'd say soloing it now is even more class dependent as well as gear dependent and as such this article shouldn't be changed to reflect any sort of "solo guide if you're a rogue, have imba lewts and happen to be this spec" User:Kiltek/Sig 04:14, 19 February 2007 (EST)

Musings

Any reason this page is unfinished/messy?

I don't understand why we (wowwiki) insist on posting quests (unless very long chain quests) when the information is already found on such sites as wowhead.com - User:Kiltek

In fact, I've found it on Wowhead: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9832 - there's no need to post information about information (if the data is already there, why copy it?) - User:Kiltek
centralized information, people dont like being send to thott / wowhead / alakhazam to go ahead and find the info there. ppl come to the wiki to find information, not to find info about where to find info. what would be the purpose of the wiki then ? User:CrazyJack/Sig 05:05, 13 February 2007 (EST)
I support your point - but this article simply shows the quest, it doesn't show any information on how to complete the quest. I (and many others) use Wowwiki for Tactics and Lore purposes; if we want to find out about quests, drop locations and boss drops we'll use Wowhead or similar.
I just simply don't see the point in "copying and pasting", which is what this article is. - User:Kiltek
its stil a fairly new quest, it needs expanding, which is what the wiki is about. it takes time,, and "people" to do the work, dont expect instant gratification User:CrazyJack/Sig 08:21, 13 February 2007 (EST)
It does actually show how to complete the first part of the quest, with a picture and video. It's a living document. The whole point of Wiki is that users contribute their point of view, method etc on the quests. That's how they evolve into useful documents. User:Notinventedhere
