"party members with high armor values will get less damage reduction than is listed in the totem's description." - I don't think that's true, but I'm not sure. Can someone confirm? --Bobson 09:18, 29 November 2006 (EST)

I have to agree with Bobson. It doesn't make any sense that damage reduction decreases as your armor increases. While it's true that Stoneskin would have a higher benefit if it were calculated after armor, 27 point reduction is still 27 point reduction regardless of what armor mitigation does to the resulting number. The claim that high armor values get less damage reduction is nothing more than a whiney rumor resulting from the misunderstanding of the complaint that Stoneskin does not scale. That fact may make it less useful than [Devotion Aura] at high levels and end game, but that doesn't mean that it scales DOWN. Unless someone shows me definitive proof that this claim is true and shows me the game mechanics and formulae that drive it, I'm going to change that phrase. --Ayamy 23:54, 18 January 2007 (EST)
It had nothing to do with scaling. The issue was that the damage reduction was applied before armor was considered, meaning that a character with 10% mitigation from armor would get 90% of the listed reduction, while a character with 50% mitigation would only get 50% of the listed reduction. This is no longer an issue, however, as the totem now provides a bonus to armor instead. - Alltat (talk) 12:20, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
