War Golems

The warcraft 3 gives us 3 types of golems:

  • Normal(which seem to be made of rock stuff)
  • War(of dwarven origin)
  • Flesh(flesh abominations)

The definition of this golem article seems to fit the second, War Golems according to warcraft 3 info.
I then looked trough wowhead with the words, war golem and they were all exclusively used for dwarven golems, specificly 4 vanilla dwarven golems and 3 northrend iron golems.
I think we should change the name of this article to War golem.--Ashbear160 (talk) 22:30, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Your thoughts seem to be scattered a bit, so I would prefer if we discussed this before (and not while) you edit this. First, the war golems of Warcraft III were just golems that were made of armor/metal. The note about dwarves inventing them comes from the non-canon Alliance Player's Guide. The quote is, under "Races and Technology" and "Ironforge Dwarves" is "Dwarven inventions include gunpowder, firearms, siege works, war golems and other weapons of war." It does not give any context really. A big thing is that this page has a cited name. At least two previews for Uldaman mention this name, and it matches the model name. This page's name will not be changed. It is true that the dark iron dwarves and the iron dwarves use the term "war golem". However, there is no real difference between 'war golems' and 'some of the [stone] golems used for war' as far as I can see. Half of the "war golem" page is (theoretically) about a term used for some golems, but there is minimal lore about them. Your theory that the dark irons call all their golems war golems has merit, but needs citation.--SWM2448 22:48, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
All examples of War Golems in Wow are either this type of golem or a iron golem, i don't see why should it be listed as a different type of golem too, but blizz is kinda all over the place so it's confusing.--Ashbear160 (talk) 22:54, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
The separate page thing likely stems from Warcraft III splitting the types, and then the name showing up again. War Golem as a rare mob was a big deal. There might be separate lore for them somewhere (the war golem page as it is very bare, and needs more), but regardless, not everything has to be grouped just by model.--SWM2448 01:31, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
