Talk:Seed of Corruption

For information on the Warlock spell, go to: [Seed of Corruption].

Before my revamp, there were 2 statements which seem to contradict:

  • SoC does not cause a chain effect--if multiple mobs are affected by SoC, detonation on one of the mobs will not trigger explosions on others.
  • Seed of Corruption is most useful in situations where you have to deal with multiple mobs at the same time and you have a tank with AOE taunt (such as Voidwalker). As soon as the tank grabs aggro, quickly cast SoC on as many mobs as you can. Try not to target mobs taking damage from the tank. If all goes well, detonations will wipe all mobs in no time. However, there have to be at least 3-4 mobs in the group, and they shouldn't have more than 10,000 hp each. If you can't kill everyone with the initial round of detonations, you'll have a pack of very angry mobs at half-health beating on you and you won't be able to do anything.

Doesn't the second statement imply that such a chain effect is possible? Does anybody know how it actually works? --bfx 03:41, 8 March 2007 (EST)

To be honest reading this, i think that seeding all of the mobs at the same time makes the explosion time also around the same time. Thus not giving a chain effect by itself, but a created one. Yenea Whindlebolt 03:47, 8 March 2007 (EST)

Yeah. You start seeding mobs, each mob lives maybe 10 seconds after seeding and then explodes. (Unless he's taking damage from something else) You can usually seed 3-4 mobs before the first detonation. First couple of detonations will pull aggro, the remaining explosions happen while they are running to you. --Itinerant 15:51, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

Does anyone know if casting SoC in a PvP situation, if the AoE portion, if the opposing player is near unaggro'd mobs, the damage caused, will the mobs go after the opposing player or the warlock who casted SoC. ie: Warlock casts SoC on targeted Player, and player is in range of unaggro'd mobs and SoC blows on him, hitting the nearby mobs, will the mobs attack the player or the warlock?
