Tattooing

Rune Tattooing perhaps?User:Airiph/sig 15:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

I like it, write it down with a description and maybe a few examples. Meneldir (talk) 19:41, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Meh, it's basicly a branch of infusion imoUser:Airiph/sig 23:20, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Mass Revamp

I added the information legend and added arguments for both sides. User:Omniferous/Sig 14:07, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

I myself would have just preferred it stayed with just ideas like the class and instances ideas, without the arguments, but in anycase I cleaned most of it up and removed some of the arguments that made no sense to add... if any disagreements, post them here. Do not revert or drastically change the arguments. Arguments Lost

Several of my negative arguments on Lumbering were straight up removed no questions asked, but I feel they are legitimate arguments. Why did you remove these?

- Many zones in Outland are extremely limited in, or do not have, trees. This includes Blade's Edge Mountains (limited), Netherstorm (Eco-Domes only), and Shadowmoon Valley (only in Arakkoa land).

- Trees are ridiculously abundant. Since gathering professions get their value from having to search for reagents, being able to sit in one place an farm wouldn't pose a challenge.

- Many trees are placed explicitly and contribute to the mood of a region. It would probably kill the spirit of Teldrassil, for instance, if it was completely deforested by wood-farmers or power-levelers, and removal of trees might allow access to explicitly blocked areas.

On an unrelated note, are we viewing Botany as a "gathering" profession, where you could grow free reagents? Wouldn't that seem like an unfair game mechanic if players could just produce things for free? "How would it function?" is the question. Thus far it seems too different mechanics wise to fit. User:Omniferous/Sig 06:02, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Read the history, I gave a reason → "like herbs, they could make small trees of any type that can spawn anywhere, removing invalid arguments"
However, an argument such as being forced to only able to cut down certain trees and not able to touch trees part of the landscape could be added. Point of note the "forester" profession LotR online doesn't mean you go around cutting down trees seen in the world map. Wood still comes randomly spawned nodes, like other proffessions. I'd suspect that Blizzard would do something similar.Baggins (talk) 12:15, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

"Work With"

Should arguments solely based on the idea that an arbitrary idea posted here on WoWWiki with no actual source support suggesting it might happen be able to support? I'm specifically saying that things like, "Would work with Woodworking as a gathering profession" should be mechanic (white), not for (dark green), because there's no HARD evidence that Woodworking will ever BE a profession. Not to knock it, but we can't support something with a theory, right? User:Omniferous/Sig 03:31, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Critter capturer

If no one objects, I'm going to remove the what looks like something added for fun, with nothing to back it up. I'll clearly mark where I removed it in the summary box, in case I'm overridden so it can be easily undone. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! Actually I was being completely serious about that, I'm a pet collector myself and I know a fair few people who are quite obsessed with it. One of my friends has bought several rare collector cards on ebay for more money than is sensible, just to get a particular pet. I've spent a lot of gold in the Auction House getting rare drop pets & there are a few critters out there that I'd love to get. If you don't mind I'd like to restore it, as I'm genuinely interested to hear if anyone else would like to do it. --BlueBrainFreezy (talk) 03:29, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

You can be a serious collector and thats fine... but I don't think theres enough to support a whole profession around it. Feel free to make a {{Fanfic user idea}} page on your own user space though. And place the link under the see also section like Noobi666 has done with his ideas. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:36, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks but I don't think I will, I can see that that type of idea isn't good enough, it'd just be a waste of bandwidth.--BlueBrainFreezy (talk) 01:59, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Woodworking

There is one problem with this. How would you get wood? Just saying... No Wood. User:The Awesome Jake Von (User Talk:The Awesome Jake Von) 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Um... from the trees around you, if bliz introduced woodworking, they'd also introduced something for it similar to how herbalism works. Doesn't that section already state that? See Lumbering. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:53, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
Well that doesn't make any sense at all why would wood come from trees? User:The Awesome Jake Von (User Talk:The Awesome Jake Von) 6 March 2010 (UTC)
