Making up the Undocumented Changes for patch 3.0.2

Who wants to help me to make up the page, so that it fits in Wowwiki? Hans Kamp (talk) 15:43, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Patch 3.0.2 is nowhere close to release, so making an undocumented changes list is unnecessary. It's still in beta stages so alot of things can change. g0urra[T҂C] 15:48, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
While Patch 3.0.2 is up now, some of these changes still need to be verified. g0urra[T҂C] 13:29, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, especially since there seems to be a few people who prefer to leave the "official" patch notes up rather than have accurate information on what actually happened. Perhaps the "official" notes need to be moved to a separate page so as not to confuse people who actually expect to get real answers when they come here. VictorTyne (talk) 01:06, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Downranking?

I don't see it in the official patch notes, should this be documented? Bregdark (talk) 00:43, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

What about it? I haven't heard anything... which just means I haven't heard it. --Azaram (talk) 05:07, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Underwater breathing Items

- [Nagrand Cherry]: The length of underwater breathing has been reduced from 30 to 5 minutes.

From what I can remember, all Items granting underwater breathing was reduced, not just Nagrand Cherry. I remember reading this from a Blue post months ago(??). I haven't edited it yet since I can not confirm it. However, it makes sense, than leaving some items still at 30minutes breathing. Laibeus Lord (talk) 06:46, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Except that the other items are crafted. The cherries, which are quest rewarded, come with 20. This change was done so they can't be brought into Northrend and used (when they most likely will have similar items in northrend). Changing Sound and Video settings before login

I am not sure if this has been documented anywhere yet, but you can now change your video and sound settings at the login screen before you login to the game. dparvin (talk) 22:18, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Timbermaw Hold Rep

When I turned in some beads with Timbermaw hold, I got 300 rep instead of the 150 I was expecting. Has the rep for them been completely changed again? dparvin (talk) 22:19, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

When I was testing/playing with the feral cat charge in Felwood, I was getting four rep per kill instead of the 2 I'd normally gotten, so yeah, I think it has been changed... probably because one of the achievements would take forever, as you have to get exalted with the Timbermaw. --Azaram (talk) 01:34, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Confirmed, 4 rep per kill (14 for Chieftain), 300 per turnin. Bregdark (talk) 18:03, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Lightwell

Lightwell seems to be disappearing upon the casting priests death. Folashir (talk)

Mounts

I noticed my Golden Gryphont no longer takes up a space in my bag. I am not sure what else this includes, besides Battleground Marks of Honor and Badges. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 09:27, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Mounts, vanity pets, and most of the currency items (the Halaa research and battle badges did not change). These are in the normal notes. --Azaram (talk) 01:38, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Hall of Champions, Shadowstep Animation, Frost Grenades.

-Hall of Champions, etc not instanced, didn't see announcement on that. -Instead of smoke cloud at the end of one's Shadowstep there is a tornado like swirl, no? So new animation. -Frost Grenades are defiantly changed and I couldn't find it in patch notes. Now slows instead of snares, plus new icon.

First time at this, so I just added those changes into the wiki before making reference here, not sure if that's cool or not.

Generally best to check the page, if it's not there, check the discussion, then add. Remember to add your signature with four ~, too... --Azaram (talk) 01:39, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Human talent?

I am not sure if this is just for Humans, but I found something called "Every Man for Himself" on my character's talent pane. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 11:04, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

That's a new Human Racial ability.
Cool. I think it was undocumented unless I missed it on the patch notes. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 02:01, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Crit Chance

Not sure if it's been noted elsewhere, but spells now use the same crit chance stat. For example, [Vengeance of the Illidari] has changed so that it provides 26 Crit Rating by 26 passively and 120 Spellpower on use

Some bugs n stuff

  • Stealth is bugged, shamans and warriors in your own group are able to kill your stealth.
  • Wound poison is outdamaging instant poison. that seems rather an odd mechanic.
  • Warlocks, demon form, no bar changing = quite annoying.
  • Hunters, pet talent tree is showing : soy% etc, template variables. These need to be replaced still with actual values.
  • Some druid spells : feral charge / mangle, have 2 icons : 1 for bear 1 for cat. It'd be a lot easier for my button-bars if these could simply be MERGED somehow, and dynamically change based on your form. Same with Faery fire, which has 3 buttons to do the exact same thing...
  • Prayer of Mending sound getting stuck

Pittance Zurgat (talk) 14:09, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Hope you posted these in the official bug forums, does little good here. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 18:28, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Titles really removed?

We say Champion of the Naaru and Hand of Adal are removed and quote blue, but some controversy over if these are actually removed or not. For example, see: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=11296420747&sid=1

Can anyone confirm if removed? Bregdark (talk) 18:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

My character was missing Kael's Vial and had done the BT neck questline before patch 3.0.2. I got the Kael's Vial in patch 3.0.3 and when I turned quest Vials of Eternity, I got my Hand of A'dal title (character is Oscassey, Skullcrusher US) Danleo (talk) 18:19, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
You can still get the titles if you have the final quest phase in the chain. The one that says "will award this title upon completion". All Blizzard did was create new copies of the final phases of each of the two attunement chains, that don't award the titles, and the next-to-last phases now link to these new quests, which don't award the titles. This was confirmed by a CM (don't have the link at the moment, but I read it myself and remember it). You used to be able to share the title-giving copy of the quest; I don't know if you still can. If you're on a previous phase in the quest rather than the final one, you can't get the title. That's how it works.

Reduction in Heroic Difficulty

Not sure what kind of proof you're looking for, but I can say with 100% confidence that the heroic dungeons are significantly easier after the patch, after doing at least a dozen of them since.

arcane torrent/mana tap

Made BE racial into 2 lines (reasoning follows)

  • Arcane torrent now simply restores mana based on caster level. It retains its AoE silence property.
  • It does not drain any mana from target when used so mana tap has not been merged with it.
  • The dependancy on mana tap has gone away with the ability. --WoWWiki-Dga (talk) 19:59, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Enchant glows

It seems like they've boosted the glows on some of the enchants. Pre 3, my druid's +35 agility on  [Earthwarden] was barely visible. Now it's a big green blob. My hunter's Savagery enchant appears to have a larger red cloud around it, although I don't remember for sure and it may be the  [Vengeful Gladiator's Waraxe] instead. Wasn't sure enough to add this... --Azaram (talk) 00:23, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

And now it's gone again. Well, it was nice while it lasted... --Azaram (talk) 02:43, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Warlock: Felhunter's Paranoia

Has nobody noticed that Felhunters no longer have Paranoia, but have Fel Intelligence instead?
-- Nilasthatal <Talk> 02:39, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

I would say, plenty of people have noticed it... its also in the patch notes:
Felhunter: Paranoia and Tainted Blood have been replaced with Fel Intelligence and Shadow Bite. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 06:38, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
I read those patch notes about twenty times. I must be a total moron to have missed that...oh well.

Profession Links

Was this the patch when these were released? I'm having a hard time finding it on the web, and I think it was just an undocumented changed. -13:38, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes it was. From the Documented Changes under User Interface: Tradeskills can now be linked by shift-clicking the tradeskill icon. Curtwulf (talk) 13:48, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Removed Quests

I see only a few quests mentioned in this page, and yet there are plenty at Category: Removed in patch 3.0.2. Should the full list be included in this page (ready for any details to be added as A [37] Warn Bolvar!, A [15-30] Return to Jaina, and A [54] The True Masters have now), or should they only be copied/moved to a sub-category which is to be linked to from here? -- Napoleon 9th (talk) 16:58, December 15, 2009 (UTC)
