Talk:Northrend alchemy recipes

Pardon me if this is a "work in progress", but I gotta kibbitz. :) Had I time to work on this page, I would:

  • Move Alchemy recipes/Grand Master to a template page. In this case, this page is well enough developed that the table is obviously an inclusion, not a page of its own. I'm also hoping that said translation removes the slash as irrelevant.
  • (Table) Probably remove the "skill color" column entirely, replacing it with "minimum skill to learn" as with Tailoring. It is information of only marginal utility IMO, and too subject to change to be easily maintainable. Yes, it's of interest, but only if maintained.
  • (Table) Collate the separate tables into a single table, matching "discover while crafting" and "quest" to "Source". (ibid). Probably roll "gold to train" into source, too.
  • (Table) I'm on the fence about having the made item in the recipe table. It doesn't add significantly to the length of the table, yet does clutter the table.
  • (page) Convert "simplified recipe list" into a summary. The recipes are, after all, already on the page (or on a page obviously linked to). Likewise, their sources. It IS worth noting all the sections for their mechanisms, but not so worthwhile as to duplicate them on one page. The now shortened summary could then safely be placed above the table.
  • (page) Reference to  [Transmute: Eternal Might] can safely be removed now, I think.

... But alas, I'm working on other pages. What YOU do is entirely up to you. How much of this had you already planned?

More honestly: Were I you, I'd ignore every one of these suggestions. Then, over a period of months gradually realize that he had a point and sheepishly implement a few of them, complaining loudly all the while. Actually, refer to Forum:Recipe tables and you will see that some of your suggestions to the detailed table are being implemented by a new approach I am putting forward. D.D. Corkum (T / C) 15:38, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
