There seems to be an isolationist-non isolationist conflict followed by a worgen cursed Gilnean-human Gilnean conflict. The two events may bleed into each other, but if they do not, I am unsure which one was the civil war mentioned on the official Gilneas preview. I believe the Isolationist/or not and the cursed/or not conflicts are the same conflict.

It sounds like to me their two completly different conflicts. And the Northgate rebellion was a isolationist conflict which was over before the first quest in Gilneas. And the siege of Gilneas happens after the Northgate Rebellion. And its a attack by feral worgen. So I think their two completely different conflicts. There are two events: the Northgate Rebellion was the civil war in which Lord Darius Crowley led a rebellion against Greymane, and then the worgen invasion. After that comes the Cataclysm and with it the Forsaken invasion. WoWWiki-Suzaku (talk) 18:16, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

At least this is what the Worgen starting zone tell us: "worgens are invading every house, we were already at war between gilneans".

This topics needs to be revisited, actually, Northgate rebellion exists, but as a organization, not an event. The worgen attack should have another name, hopefully, the comics reveals it.--Lon-ami (talk) 19:03, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Splitting this article into two articles.

I think we should split this article into two articles. One of them should be called the Fall of Gilneas City and that article should be about how Gilneas City fell to the Bloodfang Worgen. I agree, this article should be split into Northgate rebellion and another, perhaps simply Gilnean worgen invasion or something like it. The upcoming Curse of the Worgen story seems to indicate that there's a period of peace after the rebellion and that the initial worgen infiltration is small and mysterious (mistaken for serial killings), and not part of a large-scale onslaught. Agree. North Gate Rebellion, according to Genn's Short Story, North Gate Rebellion takes place a few yearsafter Gilneas has been isolated. Genn even mentioned that Crowley had sent the Gilneas Brigade to help Jaina in her travel to Kalimdor. So, the Northgate Rebellion per se takes place in the time of W3: Reign of Chaos. However, the Wolf Cult Rebellion (led by Ralaar) seems to take place weeks or days before the Cataclysm. So yes, PLEASE, separate this article now. Cemotucu
