I have come to a conclusion... It's not possible to do without pull the majority of the whelps. I'll count eggs later, but pulling as many as I could... I could never get beyond 20 whelps in 15 seconds.
It could also be my dps which is only 1000-ish at level 75 with AoE. I invited an 80 Paladin (he coulda been in Retribution or Holy spec, I forgot to ask) and he was doing about 2500 dps and we still didn't get any more.
The trick appears to be getting them to spawn AND chase you, something not easy when you're so high in level and they won't aggro unless you slap them in the face. So tanks or those with tank abilities (Demoralizing Roar, Consecration, that sort of thing) would be best equipped to do this.
My Warlock did pretty well as it was with a Voidwalker's Sacrifice and a single Noise Machine (Goblin Engineering. You could wear two if you wanted). Kept me from taking damage for a long time and allowed me to cast freely despite having many whelps hitting me.   VainaVainamoinenJust ask! What have I been up to? 15:59, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Okay. Update. Level 80 Retribution Palidan and Level 75 Affliction Warlock (Destruction with better Rain of Fire would be optimum). Palidan runs around the chamber in a big circle, pulling but NOT KILLING as many whelps as he can. At the end of his circle, back to where the Warlock is standing he does his best to stay alive and keep the whelps on him while the Warlock quickly casts Rain of Fire. If you can't get it done with two Rain of Fires then you're not going to get the achievement.
The Palidan must run in with Divine Shield while he is pulling the whelps. Sacred Shield and Lay on Hands are also highly recommended.  VainaVainamoinenJust ask! What have I been up to? 04:51, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
