Experience range

https://liquipedia.net/warcraft/Hero

Any Hero will gain experience points for every accomplishment on the game map (usually kills) that they or any nearby unit do.

I don't see mention of this here.

Would anyone know more details as to how "nearby" a unit would need to be for a hero to gain XP for it's kill?

This is particularly an issue when using the Farseer as I don't know if Spirit Wolf kills would inherently qualify as the Farseer's kill (like a direct attack) or if they would just count as allied units requiring the Farseer to be in range.

It's a big issue since you can "fire and forget" your spirit wolves to explore map in attack mode while keeping Farseer at base for defense, but I don't know if that means denying the kill XP to them.

Also curious if kills from defensive towers would also give XP if the Farseer was in range.

If so seems like you could hold them back between several towers to gain XP defensively against incursions? Tycio (talk) 07:34, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
