Naming Issue

The sub-pages here have horrible Wiki names..

It would be alright if they were just:

Events A-B

But putting all that other junk in there makes them annoying to link to, and extremely fragile. Can we change them to be simpler? We can still use the pipe mechanism to make the links on the Events page include all that information, and a title entry on the actual page if the subheadings isn't enough.

Extraneous events

I just cross referenced all of the Wiki event pages with a script-extracted list of events from the 4150 interface directory (As extracted by the interface tool). The following events are in the wiki but NOT in my list.

CHARACTER_LIST_UPDATE SELECT_FIRST_CHARACTER SELECT_LAST_CHARACTER SUGGEST_REALM UPDATE_SELECTED_CHARACTER

CHAT_MSG KEYWORDS UNIT_COMBO_POINTS

Some of those are, I suspect, part of the glue which isn't exported (I've separated those from the others) -- what about the others?

List of Events used in Interface 4150

I've compiled a list of Events and their names from the Interface.mpq and patch.mpq (Interface Directory) and made it available to download from http://home.pacific.net.au/~harrowed/Interface.xml

EventCatcher

I whipped this up a while ago, and put it in the Addons list, but never got around to putting it in here

EventCatcher does what it says, it catches events, maintains a list of events you want to catch and lets you know when they fire. It also provides the list of arguments for each event.

Get it here

Is someone doing drugs?

I was just wondering since the page says that "event" isn't really global, it's just inherited from LUA scoping rules.

Two sections down, this "event" variable is called "the global event variable" - seriously, WTF? --Toxik Jan 2006

Chill dude, it's a wiki. Probably wasn't even the same person that wrote it :-)   --Mikk 19:22, 12 June 2006 (EDT)

Total makeover

I've yanked all the combo pages with impossible titles and just made one page per letter. Hope it works better for everyone out there. (The combo A-Z page it still here, of course) --Mikk 12:20, 5 August 2006 (EDT)

I hope you don't get this wrong... but IMO those Icons are ugly - Did you intend to replace them later? Plus usage of GIF graphics opposes the word "public domain" somehow... -watchout 03:53, 16 August 2006 (EDT)

Needs updated for 2.0?

I've managed to attempt to update one little section but the other parts should probably be updated using the new style of 'function soandso_event_handler(event, ...)' --Bug 03:49, 19 December 2006 (EST)

Is PARTY_LEADER_CHANGED still unreliable?

Under the description of PARTY_LEADER_CHANGED, it states that the event is considered buggy, but I have been unable to find any documentation describing problems with the event itself on Google, Wowwiki, the official WoW forums and others as of 8/12/07. Considering that the description appears to have been around a while, does a problem actually exist with this event, or can the description be updated? InTheInn 08:23, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Alphabetical and Category links at top, please

I was quite upset to notice that someone had moved all the event links to the bottom of the main events page. I used to come to this page to use for referencing the other events pages, but now I have to scroll to the bottom each time to get to the links. I tried to move the links back to the top, and it seemed to work, but as soon as I logged off and accessed the page as an anonymous user, the page would not come up at all. I don't know why this was happening and I reverted it back. Please move the links box back to the top. Thanks! --Yarko 18:06, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Done, this was annoying me too. Fien 11:42, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! :) Yarko 01:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Obsolete Events

I changed the category of some old and removed events like SPELLCAST_CHANNEL_START or SPELLCAST_DELAYED to Obsolete Events, so that those events won't clutter the Events/Spell page anymore. However, the page Events/Obsolete Events is still empty. Why won't these old events show up there? Did I do something wrong when editing Events/S? Tifi (talk) 16:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Links to subpages

This article (Events) has several subpages, but does not appear to directly link to them. Should links be included here somehow? --Wige (T - C) 16:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
