  • Before Summoning the Doomguard it might be wise to stack yourself in stats useful to it, as the pet gains stats from your current one... So you may be able to load yourself with +Strength/Stamina gear/buffs summon the demon, switch to your normal gear, and have a very mean looking Doomguard...

Is this true? I´m not sure if enslaved pets get a scaling bonus, but even then, it should only apply to int/sta/spelldmg (as with the "permanent" demons) and change when you change gear. He would get an AP bonus from +spelldmg however. Tharkie 17:14, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm not familiar with the uses of the Doomguard, but I know that an Imp, regardless of talent spec, receives fire damage gains from the warlock's fire +spell damage. --DuTempete talk|contr 02:49, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Although an unusual glitch, if your party somehow fails to perform [Ritual of Doom] (for example, clicking on the portal and then moving), you will be unable to recast the spell. There is no cooldown time for this and may remain in that state indefinitely. The known remedies are the warlock doing a "loading zone" change (Examples include: entering/exiting an instance, entering/exiting a battlefield, and switching continents.) or by logging in and out. This glitch does not happen all of the time, and is still under repair.

It should be explicitly documented whether "/console reloadui" also remedies this glitch. Can someone test whether that works? JamiesonC 15:38, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

It might be a good idea to use Curse of Recklessness on a Doomguard instead of Curse of Shadow if you're using him in PvP. For some reason, he's not immune to fear (why would something that big be afraid of a tiny little Gnome?!) like the Infernal is.

  • You might also want to just set him free somewhere in the BG instead of trying to control him; some good places in WSG are your side's Flag Room or, if you can get to it, the enemy's graveyard. Felindre
