Re: Screenshot Examples

Just a heads up: Both Quality = 1 examples were removed by ImageShack due to high bandwidth. Posted by: EGingell (T|C|F) on 13:33, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Notes Section

I just want to post this here, in case anyone is interested. On the notes section, it says that the last screenshot is saved in lossless format in the clipboard. I want to note that this is a side effect of how WoW does screenshots. World of Warcraft uses the "Print Screen" button to take screenshots. Most Operating Systems have that key bound to take a bmp screenshot of the entire available screen area. Hence, when you take a screenshot in WoW, both WoW and your OS take a picture. That picture stored in your clipboard is from your OS, not WoW. What this boils down to, is if your re-bind the screenshot key in WoW, you won't get this effect.

Default

Hi, I was looking to find out what the default setting is. I might guess that it is 3 by looking at the screenshots, but i can't say for sure. Drag-5 (talk) 23:53, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

The default settings are:

screenshotFormat jpg

screenshotQuality 3

as mentioned on the Wikipage. Elvador1 (talk) 12:53, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Mac Screenshot cvar Updates

Have gotten an update from Machkhan , US Mac Tech support agent. He consulted with the mac developers to confirm a couple of details about the screenshot cvars for Mac :

  • .tga is not a supported format for screenshots on Macs. This is due to the removal of the QuickTime APIs that was used for this.
  • The screenshotQuality cvar is not supported on Mac.
