Name

In my modelviewer, his name is "Boneguard". ///--RoyBoy (talk) 15:31, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

The name "Bone Wraith" is not taken from the model viewer but from the description of a quest: N [30] Lord Marrowgar Must Die!.

I think it's kind of stupid that in the article it says that Bone wraith is a type of creature. Bone wraith is simply a title for Lord Marrowgar... --RoyBoy (talk) 22:41, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

Without the destruction of this bone wraith, there is no hope of taking Icecrown Citadel. I don't know how, RoyBoy, you consider that a title. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 22:45, June 13, 2010 (UTC)
So if something said "Without the death of this evil king, there is no hope of taking the frozen throne" (just as an example). Then I guess an evil king would just be a creature. The text would be very weird if it said "the destruction of the bone wraith, there is no hope...". If a "bone wraith" would be a whole new creature, then the first letter of the name would probably be capitalized. I just do not think this is enough to just flat out say "Marrowgar is part of a whole new race of undead called bone wraiths because a single quest in wow called him bone wraith". That sounds very weak to me but then, this is wowwiki and there are many examples where their file names equals the name of their speices.

Althought it's DNP, I'll bring it to the topic, to add an argument to the debate.
A "yellow-flamed marrowgar" has been datamined within Cataclysm, which indicates that the quest does not tell his title, but his race/specie.

Yes, model names are often used as the name of the creature, unless one is actually mentioned, like in a quest. However, we try to avoid using model names, cause often times they don't equal the creature especially in Wrath, where many model names are Northrend<whatever>. Another example is the Wretched, or Crackelf in the files. But thank goodness this debate can be over as soon as beta hits, and I could care less what it ends up being. I was just trying to avoid basing everything off model names, like we were forced to do on many new creatures in Woltk. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony!
