He's actually friendly to both alliance and horde from I've heard, and acts as if he's an abassador from the horde.Baggins 04:27, 23 November 2006 (EST)

His faction is Booty Bay. I guess that was the only way blizzard could make him so that he would be non hostile to both sides. Still it looks very silly. --Tilmitt 10:27, 26 January 2007 (EST)
Of course not. There are numerous neutral NPC friendly to both Alliance and Horde in game so that this is "the only way" is out of question. --Rowaasr13 13:24, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

"The true power in these lands continues to grow in strength and number while we squabble over scorched earth with orcs. Do we continue to fight a war in these lands against the Horde, only to be routed one day by the armies of the Burning Legion? It is futile." As you can see, he is clearly not an ambassador from the Horde. He keeps saying 'we' when referring to the Alliance, indicating if anything, that he is one of the elves that remained loyal to the Alliance. Such as the various High Elves scattered around the world. Ardalan is not an ambassador from the Horde. He was in the game since release, and that was way before Burning Crusade was even thought of; let alone Blood Elves being in the Horde. It's an absurd claim. --Timolas 15:44, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

The high elves who remained loyal to the Alliance do not wear black and red, because they do not want to be mistaken for blood elves. So the fact that Ardalan does wear black and red indicates that either he is a blood elf or he doesn't mind being mistaken for one.

He is also an ambassador to the Alliance, which suggests that he represents some faction other than the Alliance. (c.f. the Horde ambassador in Ironforge and the Alliance ambassador in Orgrimmar) He most likely represents a group of blood elves, since he wears their colors, and the two biggest groups of blood elves are those who joined Illidan and those who joined the Horde.

And he clearly isn't sympathetic to the Illidari.

He also has green eyes and a blood elf voice, he is clearly not a high elf.--Gurluas 15:22, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
