In regards to the Speculation as to the relationship between the Aerie Peaks and the Hinterlands in World of Warcraft: Is it not possible that the Aerie Peaks in this context are not truly a zone, instead being the name of the Mountain Chain that runs through the north of the Hinterlands? It would explain the city which takes its name and would still work, and seeing as how the mountains are largely insurmountable by players, would it not be possible that the Wildhammers, being dwarves who've lived there for numerous generations and their relationship with the Gryphons, are alone in their access to it? Sure its possible. But I have a feeling that the retcon is that they dropped the "s" from aerie peaks to make it singular.Baggins 06:01, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Hence the meaning of "Peaks"... User:IbbertTheGnome/Sig 22:43, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

I always understood Northeron as the mountains sourrounding the Hinterlands, hence the Hinterlands is a valley(or several) in the mountains. The Aerie Peaks is the dwarven realm in Northeron and the Hinterlands and Aerie Peak is the capital of The Aerie Peaks. -Rovdyr 13:20, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Upside-down map?

In the book Day of the Dragon it is said that Aerie Peaks is a distant foreboding, mountainous region even beyond the realm of Quel'thalas. If you look at a map of the world, Quel'thalas is much farther away than Aerie Peaks. This quote was from an elf while she was in the region of Lordaeron. Rolandius (talk) 11:22, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Investigation about Northern Lordaeron, Northeron, Hinterlands and Aerie Peaks

Regards to all, seeing the mess in relation to areas of Northern Lordaeron, Northeron, Hinterlands and Aerie Peaks and the many contradictory speculations about this issue, I plan to solve the mystery with the information we have. To do this I will go drawing conclusions or axioms, and then I'll linking them, so that everything fits. Because I am convinced that one single speculation would solve all this mess, although ideally would be this was taken as a proved fact.

Although little information we have in relation to these areas is diffuse and contradictory, as they come from different authors, surely there is a way to connect them all and come to a firm and credible conclusion.

This will take time, but do not worry, I will not change anything until I get the conclusions and you give me your blessing.

I will publish my reports in Talk:Northern Lordaeron, Talk:Northeron, Talk:Hinterlands and Talk:Aerie Peaks, at the same time. Northem (talk) 13:05, February 19, 2010 (UTC)
