Coming back to WoW: Pricey?

- I thought they had made the pre-Cataclysm stuff $20 or something. It must have been a limited time deal. That does seem pretty steep for an expansion intended to attract new players though. I assume there's a new Battle Chest in the works. --Bellocois (talk) 12:30, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, around black friday for maybe a week, vanilla ($5) + BC ($5) + WotLK ($10) was $20 (I think those where the prices). WoW Battle Chest and Wrath of the Lich King should be $20 each now, not $40. If you saw it at $40 they were just trying to rip you off (like the Apple Store would).
- Still $80 to start playing full WoW is kind of pricey. Also, paying around $15/month if you only bought vanilla WoW or BC is where the real ripoff is. Blizzard should tier the monthly pricing based on what expansion you have the latest of. I would say $5/month vanilla, $10/month BC, and $15/month after that. Also, flying in the old world shouldn't be tied to Cataclysm and be like a $10-$25 upgrade like a character transfer, etc. -- Fandyllic (talk · contribs) 10:17 AM PST 19 Dec 2010
- Yes, those were the prices during the special. Tulonsae (talk) 18:41, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Actually, this person has a point. I just checked the US version of the Blizzard store to be sure it was the same there. $40 Battle Chest, $40 WotLK, $40 Cataclysm. Definitely don't buy it that way. Zanmen (talk) 07:25, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
