Forum:Use Extension:Vector?

Someone on WoWWiki pointed to the Talisman Online wiki and I noticed it had collapsible sidebar menus which appear to be implemented via Extension:Vector.
Should we take a look at adding this or is it not really necessary? It could give future flexibility, even if we don't want to use it right away. -- Fandyllic (talk · contribs) 2:29 PM PST 22 Nov 2010
- Collapsible and flyout menus are useful tools (when done with conformance to web content accessibility guidelines, of course), but at the moment we don't have enough links on the side menu to justify their use. I advise against adding an extension unless we determine an immediate need for it, as doing so increases the complexity and maintenance of the site. D.D. Corkum (T / C) 23:33, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't want to have this extension (and a few others) installed because it's still in usability testing upstream and that the set of "spun out extensions" from Extension:UsabilityInitiative require the use of either the Initiative compatible version of 1.16 (itself a beta release) or the use of 1.17, which is also something of a non-stable release. Yes, we should add it. No, not yet. =^) --Sky (talk) 23:50, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
