Hello everyone. I'm new here, but I've been browsing Wowpedia and WoWWiki using them as resources for WoW lore for a while.

I was wondering why lore contained in The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm hasn't been posted yet.

Thanks for the response. I do have the book, but I lack the amount of time needed to go in and post all the snippets of lore myself. I also seem to find myself wondering when exactly the events of the book take place in regards to WoW, since some of the events seem to overlap with the current patch. --SMBComix (talk) 00:45, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

In this case, I think you can take the subtitle literally - right before Cataclysm. The events it describes, though - such as the destructive earthquakes, the petrification of King Magni, and the death of Cairne in the duel with Garrosh (a fact I am still mourning) - appear to be taking place during the Cataclysm, even if they have not happened yet in-game. Zarhym has stated that the elemental invasion that began yesterday will come in four phases, likely involving Thrall in Outland. Some of us who are overly lore-minded, such as myself, are holding out hope that some of the events of The Shattering - such as the mak'gora between Cairne and Garrosh, Magni's literally petrifying death, and the events in Ironforge that lead to the establishment of the Council of Three Hammers - will be played out in-game along the lines of The Shattering, because having someone as important as Cairne die only in the book is just plain wrong.

The Cataclysm occurs at the end of the book, although it doesn't go into detail, Thrall feels Deathwing's escape, thats the whole reason he is going to the Maelstrom as of the Goblin starting experience. Whats happening at the moment in regards to Blizz's staggered "events" is pretty much at the same time as the book, how much they do in game that was in the book though remains to be seen...
