Forum:Make text float left or right: how?
(This topic is archived. Please do not edit this page!)
I'm sure this is easy to make, but I have no freaking idea how to. Guess I'll feel stupid after the answer is given, duh.
As always, examples are the best option:
- Text1 Text2
- Text1 Text2
- Text1 Text2
I want Text1 to remain in the left side (I suppose there's no need to make anything) and Text2 float left, on the rightest side of the page, or the area I delimit to it.
So far I've only seen one example of this at the wiki: the instance templates:
You see there that the "(lore)" part floats in the righter side. That's what I want, but I don't understand the style of table or texts applied to that template.
My final goal is to make columns of data, with a small tag in the rightest part of the area in the column they are.
Thanks from the beginning! .--Lon-ami (talk) 13:34, October 25, 2009 (UTC)
- Probably someone else can give a better answer, but in the IC example, the whole thing is in a table with two columns: one column for the "Text1"s, the other for Text 2. I think the trick is to make the whole table width 100%, and force the first column to be really wide (width 90% in this case) so that the second column is way to the right. I don't think it can be done without a table like that. And this trick works partly because the text in the right column is all the same. I simplified it some below if that helps. -- Harveydrone 20:48, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

- Playing with this for a bit, it might be better to do it as below, if the Text2 part is of varying length, but note that every Text2 part has to be specifically aligned right. -- Harveydrone 21:01, October 27, 2009 (UTC)
Text1 | Text2 |
More Text1 | Longer Text2 |
More Text1 | Not aligned-right Text2 |
