I've seen people changing this claiming it was in the Manual of Style (WW:MOS). If that's the law, I think it could be changed for good. For example, this text:

 • References
 • Elwynn Forest
 •

According to WW:MOS should be like this:

 • References
 • empty space
 • Elwynn Forest
 • empty space
 •

But I would put it like this:

 • References
 • empty space
 • empty space
 • Elwynn Forest
 •

And this, why?

 • 1: Delete utterly useless space between end-of-page templates and categories.
 • 2: The references or any last text on the articles is too close to the template without the extra space.

Opinions?--Lon-ami (talk) 09:42, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I could go either way. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 10:50, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I prefer what's in WW:MOS. --g0urra[T҂C] 11:57, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Or the third option: two spaces between references and templates, one between templates and categories. That fixes the alignment issue, and keeps readability. Kirkburn  talk  contr 12:05, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

That sounds good too. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 12:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, good, too, but I find it perfectly readable without the space, anyway Tongueout.gif. Anyway, the issue of the 2 spaces is more important, so I'm happy to see it's getting support.--Lon-ami (talk) 12:26, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Could you elaborate on your point of the space between end-of-page templates and categories? I think it's better to remove it, since it doesn't give the impression of it being the last things appearing at the bottom of the page. If your point is readability, then, what's the matter? It's not exactly hard to differentiate between a template and a category -_-. Also, useless space is useless.--Lon-ami (talk) 14:36, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

For me the extra space between the template and bottom of other content is mostly aesthetics. Similarly, you could have no extra space between paragraphs and it might remain readable enough, but it would look all crammed together. I don't feel strongly about it, but I tend to add the extra space, if I make an edit and notice no extra space between the template and bottom of other content. --Gengar orange 22x22.pngBeware the sneaky smile! Fandyllic (talk · contr) 5:02 PM PST 20 Jul 2009
For me, it does take a bit of extra effort to spot the template/category difference. Not very much, but a little. I am in favor of Kirkburn's suggestion. This is not, for me, an "edit the page to put this change in" issue, but if I think of it, I would likely put the spaces in. It's not like we've not already wasted thousands of bytes talking about it, after all. A few 'wasted' 'useless' line feeds aren't going to hurt anyone. Okay, I've added a note to this effect on WoWWiki:Manual of Style#Navigational tables. Kirkburn  talk  contr 15:38, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, nice to know it Winky.gif.--Lon-ami (talk) 15:48, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
