I had already been eyeing the Jewelcrafting profession prior to the 2013 Blizzcon, but with the announcement of the removal of certain secondary stats... I've been feeling a bit more urgent on the matter, especially since my time on Wowpedia is mostly limited to Sundays. (I'm kind of afraid that Blizzard will go beyond removing them the game to purging them from the database. Likely? Maybe not, but I don't want to chance it.)

So I have a couple questions:

  • Are there supposed to be any categories listed on them (the gems) besides Category:World of Warcraft jewelcrafting crafted gems?
  • Speaking of the above category, I noticed that there were articles such as Northrend blue gems and Burning Crusade epic gems in it. However, there are far less of that sort for Cataclysm and none for Pandaria. Was there a change in style, or simply a case of not enough users to do the work?

I have a feeling I'm forgetting about something else I wanted to ask, but the above will suffice for now. Thank you! :) -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 04:59, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

Item categorisation is largely in flux: we never really formalised what additional categories make sense for which items. If you think there should be more gem-related categories, it might be a reasonable thing to bring up in a forum topic. :)
Pages like Burning Crusade epic gems are probably a matter of shifting priorities: in BC, gems were new and shiny; in Mists, people are somewhat used to the idea of having gems, so nobody is particularly interested in creating those summary pages. — foxlit (talk) 23:03, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
