'Deathwing over Stormwind' is official concept artwork for Blizzard Entertainment. Artwork by Steve Hui.
This piece appears on pages 168-169 of The Art of Blizzard Entertainment with the following commentary:
- Nick: The artists were all jamming on this idea and Steve just knocked it out of the park. I think we were talking about where that would actually be, where he'd actually be burning— Stormwind, right?
- Samwise: He ended up landing on it.
- Nick: Yeah. This particular image for me just said so much about his scale and about who he was, what he was doing to the world.
- Chris M.: That's what I liked about it, too. It just felt like the end of the world—the color values, just apocalyptic.
- Nick: It really helped crystallize what this experience was going to be for a lot of the artists here and for us.
