Feral attack power

Feral attack power was an attribute specific to feral druids. Only druids could see the stat, displayed as orange text, in the tooltip of weapons. No weapon had a specific bonus to feral attack power; rather, all weapons with more than 54.8 DPS contained the appropriate amount of feral attack power. It was removed in Patch 4.0.1.

Notes

  • Feral attack power could be increased further with the [Predatory Strikes] talent.
  • Occasionally, the displayed feral attack power seemed to be just one point more or less than what the displayed weapon DPS would evaluate to; this was because the latter stat was already rounded for display.

Patch changes

  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Removed. The damage of the weapon now affects Cat and Bear attacks like other melee classes.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small.png Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): All weapons now have the potential to grant feral attack power based on their dps (as compared to the best superior-quality weapons available at level 60). Players will see their existing feral weapons grant roughly the same attack power as they did before (+/- 2 or so), but many new weapons will be options for the feral druid. Some feral weapons have had strength converted to attack power to be more appealing to other classes able to equip them. All druids will see the amount of feral attack power granted by an item in the item tooltip, if it grants any, but other players will not see that information.
Prior to this patch, only specific weapons provided feral attack power bonuses, which came at the expense of DPS.
