I don't quite understand...what is the difference between the "Hunter Pets" category and the "Tamable Beasts" category? Is "Tamable Beasts" used to show off a general family (like "Cat") and "Hunter Pets" used to show individual creatures (like "Swamp Jaguar")? Presea 22:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

This category is being replaced with a better named one (Tamable beasts) while at the same time complying with WW:CAT. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 23:01, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
So, all things under the category "Hunter Pets" should be changed to "Tamable beasts", and additionally added to the category of offensive, defense, or all-around pets (based on pet family)?WoWWiki-Presea 19:40, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Preferably we'd like all the beast mobs in the wiki to make use of the beast parameters in the {{npcbox}}, mostly the balance= parameter so that the beast would be thrown into one of the three main categories (Offensive pets, Defensive pets, and All around pets). And use Tamable beasts only in the event that the other 3 categories are not used. Since those 3 are subcategories of Tamable beasts. But to answer your question, yes all the articles in this category need to be changed to the new category. Just to be sure before I make any sweeping edits... Using the example of "Mine Spider", the correct way to categorize it is to erase the category of "Hunter pets", then add the category "Offensive pets" instead? WoWWiki-Presea 19:10, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that sounds good. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 21:08, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, just one more question! For creatures that used to be tamable but since have disappeared from World of Warcraft forever, should I bother putting on a tag for stat balance? I'm thinking not, since no one can even tame them anymore. WoWWiki-Presea 18:47, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
I'd say to remove any pet info (if in the npcbox), but add a note on the page that they were once tamable. Unless the beast was completely removed from the game, in that case leave the tamed info there and add the {{removedfromgame}} tag. Oops, turns out I have one more question. What should nether rays be classified as? They have a stat balance unlike any other beast family, with a big bonus to HP, a huge penalty to armor, and a slight boost to attack. It doesn't neatly fit in the categories presented. Would it be better represented as defensive or well rounded? WoWWiki-Presea (talk) 04:27, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Eh... all around sounds fine. Not that any hunter tames one /snicker User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 04:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Alrighty then...this category has now been made obsolete! WoWWiki-Presea (talk) 05:02, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
