Your basic campfire, which anyone can make using no materials.

Cooking Fire is an ability or sub-skill of the Cooking profession and creates a cooking fire. The spell has a 2 second cast time and 5 minute cooldown.

Notes and trivia

• Anybody in range of the fire gets a +4 Versatility buff.
• Anyone can use a cooking fire to cook over.
• At very low skill levels, it is possible to raise your cooking skill when you create a campfire.
• The Cooking Fire (named Basic Campfire at that time) was originally part of a profession named Survival Skills along with the [Bright Campfire].

• Patch 7.1.0 (2016-10-25): Visually updated.
  
• Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Spirit changed to Versatility.
  
• Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): It requires a clickable spot, not farther than 3 yards away, where to place the cooking fire.
  
• Patch 5.1.0 (2012-11-27): Now causes nearby druids in Treant Form to catch fire for the duration of the "Cozy Fire" buff.
  
• Patch 4.3.0 (2011-11-29): Renamed from Basic Campfire.
  
• Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): No longer requires  [Flint and Tinder].
  
• Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): No longer requires  [Simple Wood]. Also, no longer causes fire damage when players stand too close.
