Antonidas is leader of the Kirin Tor, de facto ruler of Dalaran and one-time mentor to Medivh and Khadgar.

History

As the leader of the Kirin Tor, Antonidas was the mentor to many mages, including the Guardian of Azeroth, Medivh at the age of eleven. He tested the young novice by questioning him regarding the defense of Azeroth, and the use of magics - specifically dark magics. After Finden has tested the boy's combat readiness, Antonidas branded Medivh with the Eye of the Kirin Tor, stating, "No mage shall be your peer; none, your master. Your responsibility will be absolute." He then welcomed Medivh as the new Guardian, with respect and pride.[1]

Antonidas trained the wayward Khadgar, who later renounced his vow to the Kirin Tor, thereby losing favor in his eyes. Some time later, he was approached by Khadgar, who the chagrined Antonidas demanded leave Dalaran. When Khadgar explained that fel magic was corrupting Medivh, he changed his stance and led his former protege to the dungeons of Dalaran, where the Kirin Tor kept the mysterious cube Alodi. Antonidas was stunned to see Alodi open up to Khadgar at the mention of the term "Dark Portal". He watched as Khadgar entered the artifact and communed in private with the ancient entity.

After King Llane Wrynn's death, Antonidas was among the members of the Kirin Tor who attended the king's memorial service in Stormwind City, where Anduin Lothar rallied the Alliance for war.[2]
