The Island of Doctor Lapidis was an island in the South Seas off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale, north of Gillijim's Isle, and contained jungle troll ruins. Despite being removed during the alpha, it appeared in several early depictions of Azeroth: the World of Warcraft World Map in 2006, on a map in The Comic, and in the World of Warcraft: Game Manual. It has also appeared on multiple maps within the defunct Warcraft RPG, including the Monster Guide Web Supplement in 2007.
Trivia
- It was named after the exterior level designer Alen Lapidis.[1]
- The name may have been inspired by "The Island of Doctor Moreau".
