The original lion's ring was crafted by Urtis, a low-ranking sorcerer known for his indecisiveness. Urtis never rose highly in the ranks like most of his fellows, but some of the items he created live on today, and several more that he did not create bear his name if only because they seem like him, unable to decide what their true function is. The ring's golden band bears an intricately carved lion's head that holds a half-inch jewel in its mouth. Regardless of the success of any Appraise checks, the type of gem cannot be determined and infact seems to shift and change in color and consistency from moment to moment.[1]
