==Deletion policy gap==
{{t|Delete}} is for pages that are suggested that they be deleted. It requires {{t|Delete/Talk}} and a vote. {{t|speedydelete}} is for pages that should be deleted immediately for maintenance reasons with no discussion. The counter for speedydelete is to convert it into a full deletion vote. Policy is clear here, and at it and its templates' word, there is no template for a deletion discussion that is not a vote. :You can discuss speedy deletions without making a template for it...obviously administrators should check that sort of thing before performing the actual delete. --{{User:Pcj/sig}} 02:23, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
::Of course administrators will use their own judgement. Still, speedydelete-marked pages are free game, and delete-marked pages require a vote. The delete template can not be used to just suggest a deletion (without a vote, or without comments at all). It has come up before, and it came up again at [[User_talk:Ashbear160#Template:Demons]]. :::Not sure what you mean by "suggest a deletion" - either it merits speedy deletion or it doesn't, in which case it should go to a vote. It's not an outright policy violation - either it needs to go to a vote or remove the erroneous template from the page. --{{User:Pcj/sig}} 00:46, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

==I think we need to re-word this policy re: placement of the voting==
I recently nominated something for deletion and noticed this policy requires that the deletion vote template {{t|Delete/Talk}} be placed at the '''very top''' (emphasis original) of the talk page. This is contrary to wiki talk page flow and I think it would be better to change it to read something more like [[Project:VOTE#Creating_the_voting_booth|the standard voting policy]] where the vote can go where you'd expect it on the talk page.
