Ganryl Dunkelbogen, born Ganryl Maszura is the Dark Ranger of Stormwind.
Biography
Early life
Ganryl born in Andorhal, Eastweald (Western Plaguelands today), Lordaeron before the First war (circa BDP 18).
He loved shooting in his childhood and mastered the art of archery, which was better than the high elves in Quel'Thalas in the north.
In his youth, Ganryl joined the army of Lordaeron and participated in exercises. One day, when the news of the fall of Stormwind spread throughout Lordaeron, he came to the front line outside Southshore Town and prepared with a group of archers to fight against the orcish horde in the future.
Ranger's Roll
After the orcs attacked the southern coast of Lordaeron, Ganryl and his archers used a rain of arrows to shoot at the orc army and annihilated the latter. However, with the subsequent invasion of the orcs, he led the human archer troops to fight with the Old Alliance army. But when Lordaeron was about to fall, he led most of the troops to choose to return to defense and launched a sneak attack on the orcs on the battlefield in front of the city, saving Lordaeron.
After the Battle of Lordaeron, his archer troops swept through the remaining orcs in Lordaeron (excluding the Frostwolf orcs). With the victory of the war, he was promoted to major. And he also called himself "the ranger general of the alliance."
Fallen and Vengeance
Many years later, after Arthas Menethil, the former prince of Lordaeron, fell into a death knight, he launched a brutal genocide against his country, and more than 70% of the living in Lordaeron were slaughtered and resurrected as undead. In the battle to defend Lordaeron, due to the tragic death of his comrades and family, he eventually fell into the first non-elf dark ranger besides Sylvanas.
He was still alive when he fell into a dark ranger, and now he also "stole" necromancy to resurrect the dead Lordaeron rangers as dark rangers in an attempt to avenge the fallen prince (Arthas Menethil) who betrayed his country.
Wandering Dark rangers
One day after the end of the Third War, the Lich King's control over the undead race gradually weakened. Ganryl and his ranger troops and their followers, suffering from the loss of their homes, wandered around the Eastern Kingdoms, from the Plaguelands to the distant Stormwind City, and finally gained a foothold in Northshire of Stormwind Kingdom.
Join the Alliance
Afterwards, Ganryl's dark rangers stayed in Northshire, and he personally came to Stormwind and begged Regent Bolvar Fordragon (a possible prototype of the commander played by players in Warcraft I and II) to ask him and his dark rangers to join the Alliance in the hope of revenge against Arthas. In the end, Bolvar agreed, they became part of the New Alliance, and he himself became the "Dark Ranger of Stormwind".
