Scrap & Junk Lockboxes • QuestsTrainers

Scavenging allows you to loot a fallen humanoid enemy a for second time after the target has already been successfully looted once before. Similar to Skinning, Scavenging requires an enemy corpse that has not already been tapped by another player. Scavenging these enemies will result in various crafting reagents, as well as many other miscellaneous items which can then be sold to a vendor for a small profit or turned into lockboxes which can then be opened.

Upon Scavenging an enemy, you'll receive two different kinds of loot - one being Scrap, used for making Junk Lockboxes, which contain miscellaneous items with an abnormally high chance to receive some form of crafting ingredient, and the other being one or multiple items from that enemy's loot table; the former of these two is the reason Scavenging can appropriately replace a normal gathering profession.

Official overview

Scavengers follow the mantra of, Jack of all trades, master of none. They're the swindlers and charlatans that pick up the forgotten leftover scraps from bloody, brutal battles, staking their claim in a "finder's keeper's" sort of lifestyle. From scraps of fine cloth to raw coin, the material objects that scavengers will give up are few and far between, if they even exist at all.

When Scavenging, players will find both a myriad of profession reagents - including ore, herbs, and cloth - along with valuable scraps and detritus. Thus, the profession is highly beneficial for those who wish to fatten their wallets and build their empire.

Scavenging is strikingly similar to a rogue's pickpocketing ability, yet they are worlds apart. While it is in the nature of rogues to sneak around in the shadows and perform their deeds in the dark, scavengers are willing volunteers, tributing themselves in the name of making a profit.

Scavenging is a gathering profession with the unique perk of being able to create lockboxes from the spare salvage-like junk they find while scavenging out in the world. Because scavenging offers such a wide, but uncertain array of profession materials, it should be paired with professions like Tailoring or Enchanting.

Suggested 2nd professions

  • Tailoring. Since humanoid enemies are the main source of cloth reagents to begin with, and Scavenging in turn can only be used on humanoid enemies, the two make a healthy pair that can mesh well together.
  • Enchanting. A simple profession than melds with nearly anything else, Enchanting can happily go hand in hand with Scavenging if a player so chooses.

What you gather

Scrap

Scrap is the main crafting material obtained through the use of Scavenging. It is the same as any kind of leather, ore, and cloth, in that enemy mobs of different levels will yield different levels of Scrap.
