What terrors lurk in shadows? Why do kobolds keep candles lit? Tiny creatures huddle around campfires, telling tales of ancient evil. THE DARKNESS can be defeated but never destroyed. Instead, it inevitably returns in a new terrifying shape. Stay in the light. THE DARKNESS WAITS.

Overview

The Darkness enwreathes the area in smothering shadows, reducing combat abilities of anyone without a light source. It uses a variety of Shadow attacks to devour its foes and weaken the light.

Damage Dealers

Players without Candlelight suffer the debilitating effects of Smothering Shadows.
The Darkness uses Call Darkspawn, which approach the light and cast Drain Light.
Umbral Slash and Shadowblast will both damage the light if they strike it.

Healers

Players without Candlelight suffer the debilitating effects of Smothering Shadows.
Umbral Slash and Shadowblast will both damage the light if they strike it.

Tanks

Players without Candlelight suffer the debilitating effects of Smothering Shadows.

Abilities

Smothering Shadows — Darkness enshrouds the area. All players without a light source have their damage and healing done reduced by 99%.
- Rising Gloom — If the candle heat is depleted, The Darkness wreathes the area in gloom, inflicting 229981-658719 Shadow damage to all players and causing them to flee in fear for 1 Sec. This also increases their damage taken by 10% and reduces their haste by 5% for 10 Min. This effect stacks.
- Candlelight — Remaining within the candle light protects the player from Smothering Shadows, but reduces the heat level of the candle over time. Players can pick up and move the candle light source.
- Wax Lump — Hurl a lump of wax gathered from a dead Candlebearer to restore heat to your candle.
Eternal Darkness — The Darkness releases waves of pure shadow every 1 sec for 4 Sec. Each wave inflicts 229981-658719 Shadow damage to all players and reduces the Candlelight's heat.
Call Darkspawn — The Darkness beckons multiple Wriggling Darkspawn to crawl out of the shadows.
- Drain Light — Wriggling Darkspawns drain the flames from a candle, reducing its heat by 3 and inflicting 86243-247020 Shadow damage to players every 1 sec for 10 Sec.
Umbral Slash — The Darkness readies its claws and slashes out in a line towards the Candlelight. The wave of darkness inflicts 1149907-3293597 Shadow damage to players hit and reduces the Candlelight's heat.
Shadowblast — The Darkness targets a player with a massive blast. After 6 Sec, the shadows erupt, inflicting 1149907-3293597 Shadow damage to players within 10 yds. If this effect hits the Candlelight, it reduces its heat.
