Why should it link to a dwarf NPC named Greatfather Winter? Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 04:10, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

The titan entry seems very highly speculation...in-game NPC Greatfather Winter seems a better link for an in-game item. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 04:14, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Okay but if you read the letter, it has zero to do with the NPC. It is talking about an ancient being. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 04:31, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
There doesn't exist any information about Greatfather Winter in lore other than in-game. The article about the in-game Winter discusses what little lore info we have. If you have enough information for a lore article on Greatfather Winter, link to that. Do not link to speculation. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 04:34, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I don't get why we are linking to a dwarf NPC though who has nothing to do with the "Greatfather Winter" they are talking about in that story. The NPC Greatfather Winter is not the same thing as the "being" they are talking about in the story. Also, the Horde have an NPC version named Great-father Winter who is the counterpart of the Alliance's Greatfather Winter, and he is an orc. I beg to differ, the npc page is the lore page as well, notice the "background" section. The speculation section of titan has nothing to do with greatfather winter. Besides that Greatfather Winter would be the article page since that is the form it appears most as in lore. I suppose if there was a need the in-game stats could be seperated to Greatfather Winter (npc), but I really don't see any reason. Besides every little dwarf boy and girl belives Greatfather Winter in Ironforge is the real deal, ;) (obviously a nod to mall santas). Sorry but your arguement is pointless...Baggins (talk) 04:38, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I just thought that a link to the "being" on the titans page made sense since we are not little dwarves and know that the legend is not about an orc or dwarf in modern times. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 04:42, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Pray tell where its said that Greatfather Winter is a titan? He might be based off of Hodir, but does that mean that Hodir sees himself as the Greatfather. Do we even know that Hodir is referred to as the Greatfather? As an alogy do we know if the real santa was anything like his modern counterpart (he wasn't btw)? Saint Nicholas didn't even go by santa back in the day as far as I know.Baggins (talk) 04:52, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I am just mentioning that the link to the titan page was probably not that great but it was the only thing I could find about what kind of being it might have been in the legend, but on the other hand a link to a dwarf NPC isn't all that great either...unless you really think that a dwarf and/or an orc are from the legend. Do not change a page in a grasp for "speculation" straws...especially when something is already working as is. Greatfather Winter already has what lore exists on it, don't change it to a weak, vague, speculative page which doesn't even cover the subject adequately. --Pcj (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 05:06, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I guess so. It said "These are implied to be titans or speculated to be titans." so I thought it might work. Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 05:11, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
