Arthas' Mace?

Well, in Warcraft 3, the Paladin models are the same except for the head. I would imagine for the sake of simplicity Blizzard, the almighty lazy people, would have just kept the hammer models the same instead of putting in a new model. Kinda like how the items you pick up don't show up on your character. --Kongurous31758 01:30, 18 October 2006 (EDT)

There's no proof that MoM (ironic name, isn't it?) is Arthas's old weapon before Frostmourne. Plus, why would Arthas give the famous Menethil sword to Kel'Thuzad of all people? If names were that important, Blizzard wouldn't have given the name Hakkar to two completely different creatures. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Angellic2668 (talk · contr).

Seeing that Arthas' great-grandfather already was king (see DotD), we can likely assume that the family of Menethil ruled the land for a few generations already...Therefor, MoM might also be the family/royal sceptre--Maibe 11:36, 23 December 2006 (EST)

Blizzard didn't give the name Hakkar to two different creatures. Knaak named his hound master Hakkar and Blizzard named the Soulflayer Hakkar after Knaak's book was already out. And the Might of Menethil was a mace, not a sword =P plus Kel'Thuzad could have easily summoned it/picked it up/had it retrieved as a nice trinket. Or, going off the royal scepter idea, he may have kept it to symbolize his regency over Lordaeron.--Kongurous 18:30, 24 January 2007 (EST)

I say that it was Arthas' old hammer before he took up Frostmourne and the undead, having lordship over Northrend, retrieved it for the Lich King [and when Arthas was turned evil they gave it to him, which he gave to Kel'Thuzad (I guess, I mean the lich king cudda teleported it)]

and Kel'Thuzad, being a Lich, altered its form (hence the blue glow) or maybe a different undead gave it to Kel'Thuzad but altered it...(~[{theory}]~)

Seeing that it is freezing cold in Northrend, and Kelthuzad's lair...It is possible that the one noble mace was frozen and thus giving it, its blueish-ness, It is possible Arthas having no use for his old mace(Haunting Memories?) gave it to Kel'thuzad...As one can imagine Frostmourne is probably powerful enough to kill Ragnaros... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WoWWiki-Shiniki (talk · contr).

I don't think it is Arthas's old hammer (it's not even a hammer!), it's probably a mace crafted by Arthas after he turned Lich King, and gave to Kel'Thuzad, but I'm not sure, because it has no necromantic effects, which I would think Arthas would give it if he made it. His old mace, I just think he threw it away when he got Frostmourne. Who needs a hammer when you can have an all-powerful sword of everything +1? Xavius, the Satyr Lord 14:10, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

As of WotLK, the hammer Arthas used before acquiring Frostmourne is still lying in the snow within Frostmourne Cavern. Egrem (talk)
