Story Mode is an extension of Follower Dungeons, first introduced for Nerub-ar Palace in The War Within. Story Mode is strictly to complete the story involved with the raid, involves a vastly simplified version of the final boss encounter, and awards no loot.

Nerub-ar Palace

To unlock Story Mode for Nerub-ar Palace, players are required to complete the max-level  [The War Within] campaign on their first character, or just the first chapter for alts. Once unlocked, players are tasked with completing a short quest chain to lead up to the raid:

  1. N [80] Our Chance to Strike
  2. N [80] The Beginning of the End
  3. N [80] A Spy Like Us
  4. N [80] Defense of the People & N [80] Make Them Prey
  5. N [80] A Shot at the Top
  6. N [80R] To Kill a Queen

On the final quest, speak with Kriz the "Loyal" at [31.5, 64.0] near the raid entrance in the City of Threads to enter the raid in Story Mode:

Kriz the "Loyal"

The Vizier sent word that you need to be smuggled into Nerub-ar Palace. Don't worry, he already paid up front.

I'll get you right in. The squeeze is a bit tight and I hope you don't mind a little dirt.
