Description

There is a fountain terrace at the end of this path. Before the Scourge wrought havoc across Lordaeron, I used to bring Suzannah there. I remember how certain I felt then--in myself, in the Light... in her, and my children.

I wonder when it was that my path started to dim.

If there is a shade that can enlighten us, they would be at the fountain.

<Suzannah remains silent for a time.>

Not so very long ago, my husband Thomas begged me to leave for Kalimdor to flee the Scourge. He hadn't come to bed that night, instead keeping vigil to protect us. The fear in his voice scared me, and the desperation in his eyes...

<Suzannah gently traces a line across her palm, then clutches it tightly.>

I won't abandon him. Not this time, not ever.

Notes

On accept, Sir Thomas follows along again:

Sir Thomas says: Let's press on <name>, and be on your guard.

On the way, Mad Shades of cursaders are training just off the path. Follow the path up to the fountain:

Sir Thomas says: What is that? It feels... familiar somehow. Mind taking a look, <name>?

Interact with the Mysterious Stone:

The ghost of Suzannah appears.
Sir Thomas says: Another twisted shade--wait... it cannot be! Suzannah?
Suzannah says: Thomas? No! No, this is a trap! You need to run!
Thomas is trapped by shadows from Hallowed Darkness, cast by Jerome Hayton by the fountain.
Jerome Hayton says: At last you arrive, Horseman.
Sir Thomas says: Aaahhhgg!
Suzannah says: Thomas!
Suzannah says: No! What have you done?
Jerome Hayton says: The Horseman was meant to cleanse this world. By Grand Crusader Dathrohan's will, I shall see him restored!
Suzannah says: Please, help me! Before you arrived, that cultist placed soulstones nearby to fuel this ritual. We must destroy them!

Find three Soulstone Foci around the Monastery and destroy them. The first Focus:

Suzannah says: That man--Jerome Hayton. He was once part of Dathrohan's inner circle. Perhaps he never learned the truth of Dathrohan's possession.

The second:

A Tortured Shade appears.
Tortured Shade says: No more... No more!
Suzannah says: These souls... they are fallen crusaders. Where did Jerome learn such magic?

The third:

Another Tortured Shade appears.
Tortured Shade says: Our torment will be yours!
Suzannah says: There! Quickly now, we must stop Jerome before he revives the Horseman!

Return to Thomas and Jerome:

Suzannah says: Enough, Jerome! Let him go!
Jerome Hayton says: The power within him will no longer be denied!
Sir Thomas says: Aah-- Aahhhh!
Suzannah says: THOMAS!
Thomas is turned to the Headless Horseman.
The Headless Horseman says: From ashes I rise, and once again burn! Now all shall tremble at the Horseman's return!
Jerome Hayton says: At last! Now, Horseman! Cleanse Azeroth with your purifying flame!
The Headless Horseman says: My power returns, my vengeance renewed! If it's cleansing you wish, I shall start with you!
Suzannah yells: THOMAS NO!!!!!!!!!!!
The Headless Horseman kills Jerome and gallops away toward the Monastery.
Suzannah says: Thomas? Thomas...
Suzannah says: No...
