The Newcomer Chat channel is where new players can ask guides about the play asking for assistance or questions regarding the game.

The default chat binding varies depending on the number of channels the player is in already.

New players

New players, marked with a baby murloc icon Newplayerhelp newcomer.png, are automatically added to Newcomer Chat. They are removed from it upon reaching level 61 and 40 hours played.[1]

Guides

Be a Guide

Veteran players who want to help new players to understand the game can register to become a "Guide". Becoming a Guide is as simple as visiting a Guide Recruiter NPC and signing up. The two available recruiters are:

To become a Guide, a player must meet the following requirements (as of patch 11.0.5).

Becoming a Guide will immediately give access to the Newcomer Chat. Guides are marked with a green flag, and text in the chat: Green flag Guide.

If a player no longer wishes to be a guide, they can stop by visiting a Guide Recruiter.
