Adventure Guide

Loom'ithar was purposefully bred by the Shadowguard for its unique ability to infuse arcane energy into its prodigious silk weaving. Bound to its fate inside the machinery of the manaforge, Loom'ithar spins endless spools of arcane silk for its masters.

Overview

Loom'ithar traps enemies within its chamber with Lair Weaving and unleashes infused arcane energy with Overinfusion Burst.

Upon reaching 50% health, Loom'ithar tears itself in two and attacks players directly with Writhing Wave.

Damage Dealer Alert Damage Dealers

  • Infused Tangles inflict heavy damage if players are caught in the collapsing ring of threads.
  • Infusion Tether will inflict damge indefinitely until the effect ends.
  • Living Silk inflicts heavy Nature damage and reduces movement speed.

Healer Alert Healers

  • Infusion Tether must be pulled far away from Loom'ithar to end the effect.
  • Overinfusion Burst inflicts Arcane damage as it charges and a massive burst when it ends.
  • Living Silk inflicts heavy Nature damage and reduces movement speed.

Tank Alert Tanks

  • Piercing Strand causes all targets hit to take increased damage from it for a duration.
  • Writhing Wave is split between all targets caught in its area.
  • Loom'ithar will give chase to their target while consumed with Unbound Rage

Abilities

Phase 1: The Silkbound Beast

  • Inv ability web buff.png Lair Weaving Damage Dealer Alert — Loom'ithar weaves a collapsing ring of Infused Tangles that inflict X Nature damage to players in their path and root them for 8 sec. Destroying an Infused Tangle removes its connecting threads.
    • WarningOn Heroic and Mythic difficulties, Infused Tangles spawn with a Woven Ward.
    • Spell nature lightningshield.png Woven Ward Tank Alert — Each Infused Tangle is protected by a barrier of silk that prevents all damage. This barrier is broken when struck by Piercing Strand.
  • Spell mage overpowered.png Infusion Pylons Mythic Difficulty — The chamber's arcane pylons pump energy into Loom'ithar through arcane beams, triggering an Excess Nova on contact. Players standing within the beam block its path, suffering X Arcane damage and gaining an application of Hyper Infusion every 1 sec. This effect stacks.
    • Inv 112 arcane nova.png Excess Nova Mythic Difficulty — The Infusion Pylons' beams trigger a burst of arcane energy from within Loom'ithar, inflicting X Arcane damage to all players.
    • Spell arcane arcanetorrent.png Hyper Infusion Mythic Difficulty — Exposure to Infusion Pylons causes the target to take 100% increased damage from Infusion Pylons for 45 sec. This effect stacks.
    • Inv ability web beam.png Infusion Tether Important — Loom'ithar pulls several players to its location, binding them with silken strands that inflict X Arcane damage each second, growing in intensity over time. Each strand snaps when drawn to 40 yards, creating a splotch of Living Silk at the player's location.
  • WarningOn Heroic and Mythic difficulties, Infusion Tether inflicts Arcane damage to the target when it ends.
  • Spell nature wispsplode.png Overinfusion Burst Deadly — Loom'ithar inflicts X Arcane damage to all players every 0.5 sec for 8 sec as it absorbs arcane energy. Then, it releases the energy in a massive explosion inflicting Y Arcane damage to players within 45 yards.
  • Ability druid starfall.png Primal Spellstorm — Arcane energy rains down from the chamber above, inflicting X Arcane damage within 6 yards of the impact locations.
  • Inv 112 arcane beam.png Piercing Strand Tank Alert — Loom'ithar launches a heavily infused strand through their current target at high speed, inflicting X Arcane damage to all players in a line and increasing damage taken from Piercing Strand by 1000% for 45 sec.
  • Inv ability web missile.png Silk Blast Tank Alert — Loom'ithar primary attack launches silk that inflicts Physical damage to its current target.

Stage Two: The Beast Unbound

  • Inv 112 raidsilkworm rageunbound.png Unbound Rage Damage Dealer Alert — Upon reaching 50% health, Loom'ithar rips itself free of its bindings, incurring a great wound that increases its damage taken by 33%. As it crashes down, Loom'ithar inflicts X Physical damage to all players and knocking them away. Arcane Ichor pours endlessly from its severed half above.
    • Spell yorsahj bloodboil purple.png Arcane Ichor Damage Dealer Alert — Ichor pours from Loom'ithar's wounds and inflicts X Arcane damage every 1 sec to players within its area.
  • Inv 112 raidsilkworm arcaneoverflow.png Arcane Overflow Healer Alert — Loom'ithar's excess energy radiates outward, inflicting X Arcane damage to all players every 1 sec.
  • Ability druid starfall.png Primal Spellstorm — Arcane energy rains down from the chamber above, inflicting X Arcane damage within 6 yards of the impact locations.
    • Inv 112 raidsilkworm arcaneoutrage.png Arcane Outrage — Loom'ithar unleashes Arcane Ichor and pure arcane energy with an enraged shriek, repelling and inflicting X Arcane damage to all players each second for the next 4 sec.
  • Warning On Mythic difficulty, when Arcane Outrage ends, players erupt with arcane energy inflicting X Arcane damage to themselves and allies within 4 yards.
    • Spell yorsahj bloodboil purple.png Arcane Ichor Damage Dealer Alert — Ichor pours from Loom'ithar's wounds and inflicts X Arcane damage every 1 sec to players within its area.
  • Inv ability web wave.png Writhing Wave Tank Alert — Loom'ithar unleashes a surge of silk towards its current target, inflicting X Nature damage and an additional Y Nature damage every 1 sec for 25 sec. The damage is split evenly among players in a frontal cone.
  • WarningOn Heroic and Mythic difficulties, affected players take 350% increased damage from Writhing Wave.
    • Inv misc bandage netherweave.png Writhing Swathe Mythic Difficulty — If Writhing Wave fails to hit at least 5 targets, Loom'ithar shields himself with the extra silk, absorbing damage taken.

    Careful genetic modification has engendered in this beast an exquisitely rare sensitivity to magical energies. Purpose-bred for the ability to infuse arcane energy into its prodigious silk weaving, it creates "living silk"--perfect for the Soulbinder to use in binding Shadowguards.[sic]

Patch changes

  • The War Within Hotfix (2025-09-02):
    • Resolved an issue that caused Loom'ithar to stop tracking the player during the cast of Piercing Strand if they transformed.
    • Resolved an issue that caused Loom'ithar to face the wrong player or direction when Piercing Strand was cast.
    • Resolved an issue preventing damage reduction effects applied to Loom'ithar to modify the damage of Piercing Strand.
