Cataclysm did, pretty much, put each zone into a storyline of its own, with some ties to others, perhaps. However, they are not quite as monolithic as they seem. There are points where you can start in on quests without having completed the precursors. Not as many as pre-cataclysm, but they are there.

I like the "storyline" template format, but I'd like to reconcile these break points into/with that format. Got any thoughts on the subject? My first victim is the Loch Modan storyline. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:47, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Go for it. Loch Modan most certainly should be broken into separate storyline templates. Badlands could also stand to be split. Among others. The templates were monolithic for me in the beginning because it was easier to implement as I was skimming through the zones during alpha/beta. The original plan was to split them up in a format like the 81-85 zones at some point, but then things got in the way... >.< --k_d³ 23:54, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
